I'm willing to wager that your dryer is an older Maytag.

If it is then your problem is the blower impeller.

Unplug you dryer
1st. Remove front panel. Do this by removing 2 Phillips head screws located 4 inches from the bottom and on the right and left side. Once these are removed swing the bottom of the front panel out toward you at about a 45 degree angle. This will allow the top pivot clips to release allowing the front panel to be set aside.
2nd. remove the drum shroud. This is what supports the front of the drum and also has the lent screen housing attached to it. There are 4 hex head screws that hold it in place. There are two on the right and two on the left. Once these are removed pull it away from the machine insuring that there are no wires attached if there is mark were they go and remove. Allow the drum to fall and rest on top of the blower housing. This does not need to be removed.
3rd. You will see the blower housing and blower impeller located on the bottom left hand side. Remove the several 1/4 hex head screws securing it and move it out of your way. (there is no need to remove the wires from the Thermostats).
4th. Remove the snap-ring and clamp and pull old impeller off of motor shaft. Look at center if it is a round hole this is your problem it should have a flat side to match the motor shaft.
5th. To put back together reverse all above steps.

A hand DIYer with basic hand tools should be-able to do this job and save a service call.

Thanks.

That is the sound of the magnetron failing. The large capacitor inside may also be drying up and causing the sound. When the capacitor dries up further it will start blowing fuses.

On spin the machine knocks loadly and "walks" on the floor. Machine is level, on a sturdy floor and the feet are positioned so that it cannot "rock back and forth" (i.e., this is not your typical "unlevel"...

A failed bearing will make a rumbling sound as the basket spins. The faster it spins the louder the sound gets. I would check to see if the spider arms are broken. If you turn the basket by hand, if you hear any kind of thumping sound as you turn the basket, this could indicate the one or more of the spider arms are broken. If they are, it is an expensive repair.

My washer/dryer doesnt spin after going through the wash cycle, during the supposed spin cycle you could hear a humming sound and when it stops there is water in the drum and you can open the door. Is this...

If you can hear a rumbling sound from the drum, then I would say that the main drum bearings have failed.
This is a major repair job, and not one I would recommmend you undertake yourself. as it involves a complete strip down of washer, and the cost is cosiderable.
Probably better to purchase a new washer.
Good luck.

The drum is very noisy when it turns and spins? There is no rattle but it sounds very raspy.

Sounds like the main drum bearings have failed.
Remove rear panel, and remove the drive belt.
From the front open the door ,and spin the drum by hand,
If it feels rough, or is rumbling at all, then the main drum bearings have failed.
If no obvious noise, then it could be the motor bearings that are noisy.
Hope this helps.

Loud rumble sound, Vent hose vibration

That model of neptune dryer had a problem with the blower housings cracking. When the housing cracks, it binds forward into the blower wheel making a loud "rumble" noise and vibration. If you open the door and manually turn the drum and you hear a rubbing noise and feel alot of resistance, then you have a cracked blower housing and need to replace it. It is not an easy job to replace, so if your not familiar with dryers, you should have a technician replace it. Let me know if you have any further questions. shane

Very noisy on spin

hello there.....the noise you hear is most likley due to failed drum bearings or something trapped in the drum....test as follows....isolate machine....open the door...test the drum for up and down lift...there should be no movement at all....if all is well here...remove the lid and remove drive belt....spin the drum by hand and listen for any bearing noise (rumble). or metallic sound of something trapped in drum..if all is well here refit the lid temp...Then select spin and start machine...if motor is noisy then the problem is with the motor bearings

i think there's a broken or loose gear.or someone put something small that stop the door from openning.
you can try to open the unit up and turn the power on
and check what hinders the door from openning.

Started having a noisy rinse & spin cycle, then stopped.

Open the washer door and spin the drum by hand, if it feels rough or noisy and rumbling, then the main drum bearings have failed. There should be little or no noise when you spin drum
This is a major repair, and I would not recommend a D.I.Y solution.
Other possibility is there is something in the pump, but you would only hear this when the pump is working.

Plz rate my comments.
Thanks.
