There could be one of two problems:
a) Either your battery is not engaging properly with the terminals and is not receiving any charging current,
or
b) The charging circuit is faulty.
For a) you can remove the battery and take a look at the terminals. If you can physically adjust them to engage with the battery in a more effective way, that should fix your problem.
For b), you'll have to take it to a qualified technician.
Hope this helps.

Battery won't charge

So put the old power cord back on since you say it charged the battery normally. Why did you change it if it was charging the battery? It's quite possible that the new power cord is faulty. Just because it is new does not mean it works.

Remove the battery and plug the new power cord in. Does it boot the laptop up? Are you able to function with the new power cord plugged in. If so, then your battery is more than likely dead and needs to be replaced. The battery only has a useful life and once it is completely bad it will not charge.

New battery HP g61 is fully charged but not working \

Maybe the AC Adapter Power Cord is not working. If you can't get on the laptop with the power cord then it is bad and the battery might be drained so you have no power source to power up the laptop.
If the laptop works only off the Power Cord and the batteryis not charging, then the battery is dead.

To check to make sure the Power Cord is working remove the battery and let thelatop run for 10 minutes or so.

To check to see if the battery has any charge left in it put the battery in andremove the power cord. If it won't boot or shuts down then the battery is deadand needs to be replaced if the power cord is ok.

My Sony laptop is not charging when it is pluged in on to the electric oulet

If the battery is not charging when the power cord is plugged in then the battery is completely dead and needs to be replaced.

Are you sure your power cord is good and that you are not operating on battery power?

Take the battery out and see if the laptop stays on. Or you can reboot with the battery out and the power cord in. If it fails that means the Power Cord is the issue and you were working off the battery.

If you leave the power cord off and insert the battery, then reboot. If it boots up and stays up that means the battery has some charge in it. If it does not boot up or boots and shuts down, the battery is drained and you will need another one if the power cord is good and it's not charging.

Battery light goes out about 10 seconds after pluged in. does not charge

There could be a problem with the battery. A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.

My daughters power supply for her C640 has a pinch

I suggest you DONT USE PINCH POWER CORD FOR SAFETY.

PLEASE TELL ME IS YOUR POWER CORD & THE PINCHED CORD ARE SAME? I MEAN SAME MODEL? AFTER PLUGING OF YOUR CORD, THE BATTERY CHARGING LIGHTS ITS ON? IF NO THEN I GUESS THAT CABLE NOT SUPPORT HER LAPTOP.
VISIT A DELL SERVICE CENTER OR A SHOWROOM AND BUY NEW CORD WHICH IS MADE FOR YOUR DAUGHTER LAPTOP MODEL.
OTHER WISE SOME CHANCES OF SHORTCIRCUIT ON MOTHERBOARD.

Thanks, i am waiting for your feed back & if you satisfied then thumps me please.

Toshiba wont charge

Sound like you may have the wrong power cord for your unit. The original power adaptor for the A105 is 75W (15V x5A) Auto sensing 100-240V/50-60MHz frequency input. If you got a replacement adaptor, I would reccomend a 75W or higher adaptor. (A new opposed to a used one.) Good Luck.

Not charging

I found out how to solve this problem...first power down your computer. Then take out the battery, remove the power supply, and then hold down the power button for 30 secs. Put the power supply in only (not the battery). Start your computer after everything is done loading up put the battery back in. Give it a min. and then you should be able to roll your cursor over the battery life indicator in the lower right corner of you computer and is should say charging. I have found that other people have had this problem and it has worked for myself and for them.

Power problem

All batteries lose their ability to store power after every recharge. I would say the problem is the battery so get a new battery soon but don't forget to charge the new battery. If the problem is still there after replacing the battery, then my next guess is the laptop.

Battery will not charge

Hi!

It's your ac adapter that is causing this issue. The ac adapter doesn't supply enough power or doesn't supply any power at all to the battery. Try to borrow another ac adapter from any inspiron system and if that works, then you need to replace the ac adapter, else, it's the motherboard.

Hope you find it helpful.

Thanks,

Karlox™ :)
