Question about Hitachi 51F500 51" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Two inch horizonal (black and white) line move from botton of screen slowly up the screen. Each line is about 24 inches apart. Also at times the picture will become dark with muted our of focus images. If you move the Denon SDX tuner slightly or jar it, the picture will return to its clear focus. However the horizonal lines will continue. At other times the picture is fine with on lines. I do not know if this is a TV problem or a Denon Tuner problem. The TV and the Tuner are 10 years old.

The best way to determine what is at fault is to disconnect the Denon tuner and run the signal straight to the TV. If the problem goes away, the Denon is at fault.

Open the back of the tv. Inside you will find a series of connectors with ribbon connectors along the screen edge. look where the line is on the screen and open the ribbon cable clamp closest to the line. Move the ribbon cable a little and re-clamp it. Sometimes a little corrosion creates a bad connection.

Toshiba L675D, black spots

Your screen is shot or partially disconnected. A lot of laptops have the vid card to lcd connect in bracket that connects the screen to the keyboard. I have fixed many by siimply taking it apart and reconnecting the clip but the spots dont sound good. Ebay to buy one or Cl to dump it as a fixer. Either way its a waste of money to have someone fix it for you unless you do it yourself.

this is a frame fault
the fact that you can still see the line when the tv is off is because you have been watching with the line and it has burnt into the crt.

31'sanyo tv analog has a white horizonal line thru it

There is a failure in the vertical amp section. This can be the main output IC, or any of the support components in this area.

An experienced tech can troubleshoot the set, and determine and service the fault.
