Sound like the unit is going off on the high limit switch or low limit switch. If its going off on high limit your condenser coil is probably very dirty and needs to be cleaned. If it is going out on low limit its most likely low on freon and has major issues.

Amana apn14j-e stops working after a few minutes

More likely the pipe sensor is defective (a sensor inside the evaporator ,connected to the thicker gas line).... if it don't send any temperature changes to the control board after 5 minutes , it believes the A/C isn't working and cuts off the whole thing to safeguard the compressor from damage ....

Put in a new thermostat and now cannot get the compressor to come back on hit the reset how long does it take to come back on

Most new thermostats have a 3 to 5 minute delay.
Check your wiring if it does not come on by then.

R=red (hot)
G=green (fan)
Y=yellow (cool)
W=white (heat)
C=blue or black (common) only on some thermostats

Also make sure "rc" and "rh" are jumpered together at the thermostat or the aircond will not work.

I have a question on Capacitors.

Capacitors on a air cond help in starting the motor and the compressor. If the capacitor is shorted or open, the motor or compressor will not work. Capacitors also keep the motors running. Most domestic airconds have a capacitor for the compressor and most condenser motors also have a smaller capacitor.

Generater wont stay on cuts on for about 5 minutes then cuts off

either its the contactor,ptc overload relay on the compressor,the motor start/run capacitor or possibly its a little low on R-134A refrigerant and the pressure switches are cutting off the compressor to protect it

5,200 BTU unit. Compressor and fan both work when first turned on, then compressor quits after 5-10 minutes of operation. Won't turn on again even after 5-minute fan-on cool down. Process repeats after AC...

this could be just a simple fix of cleaning the condenser coils. If semi-clogged, it can cause higher than normal pressures and cause the compressor to cut out on it protector. Check it out.

Daikin aircond cuts off i reset the circuit breaker and it works for ten minutes and cuts off again

What is happening is the a/c is overamping. This could be caused by a number of things. 1 Low air flow through coil, cause, dirty filter or evaporator coil, cure, clean both should look as if it is new. 2. compressor pulling more amps due to age or mechanical problems. Now depending on the area you live look at the wattage on the system. It may be in Kilowatts, if so take that number and divide it by the voltage that the system is required to operate on and this will give you a number which is your amps. Now go to the power supply to the house or apt and see if the breaker listed for the a/c is the same number as your past number that you had from the kilo watt calculation . This number shoould be below the number on the electical breaker. If it is higher than the breaker you need to have the breaker replaced for a high amp. draw. Make sure to check for air blockage first then proceed. Good luck on repairs

So-low freezer try to start, but stops after a second

. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running.If no check starter/overload relay.

Hisense air conditioner

-If both compressor and fan motor starts and stop, thermostat is the defect.
- If only the compressor check for your outlet no sign of discoloration, check the voltage if normal, check the defective overload protector of the compressor it its external, or compressor itself is defective
