it's not an easy job to replace a door handle, but to release it for the door to open, turn off the machine at the outlet and unplug. Take the top of the machine off and slide your hand down to the door catch. Depending which type of catch it is, you should either be able to push down a small lever on top or push up a small lever on the bottom or the door catch.
I hope this helps

Old food residue and juices will have got into the shaft bearings, and have dried out enough in 9 years to stop it turning. Starting with the simplest solution, try immersing the shaft in hot, or even boiling, water nearly up to the top of the metal shaft. CAUTION - DON'T BURN YOURSELF! Let it stand in the water for a few hours, and then try turning the shaft by hand (with the machine unplugged, of course). This could be repeated a number of times. You may also be able to unscrew the blade guard after this treatment, bear in mind it has a left hand thread, so if you are looking at it from the bottom, turn it clockwise to loosen. Be careful not to lose any seals or springs when it comes off.
If this doesn't work, support the Bamix upside down, and pour a small amount of WD-40 into the blade guard, so that it pools around the end of the shaft. Leave to stand, and the oil should slowly seep into the bearings, dissolving the food residues. Again, try this a few times.
If neither of these work, the Bamix will need to be dismantled to clean the shaft and bearings. This is really beyond the scope of this forum and requires some experience of this type of work.
