Question about Bose Companion 2 Computer Speakers

I have 2 Bose Companion 2 speakers and there is no sound coming outof them.

Hi

If the sound card/audio chipset isn't listed in Device Manager, there is likely a hardware issue. All hardware that is recognized/found by Windows is listed in Device Manager, even without any drivers being installed. Also keep in mind USB speakers and headphone like Bose do not use the PC sound card. They have their own sound "device" built into the speaker system. So make sure you're installing drivers for the correct sound device.
Can you plug the speaker into another PC to try? If they work there then the speaker has no problem. If they do not work in another PC, then contact Bose.

Bose Companion 3. Speakers are very faint in sound. The touch pad seem inoperable. (the green light on pad does not come on.)


Check first that you have connected the speaker to the right output. For example on many computer there is an aux output marked in blue that can give you this problem.

If the problem does not depend from the source, then that sounds like an internal fault on your Bose system.

Leave the Bose unplugged from power and from computer for one hour, to get rid of electrostatic charges accumulated inside capacitors.
If that does not get rid of the problem, then there is an internal fault, either a short on speaker wiring, or a fault on the internal amp circuit board.
