I have the same problem and I found this fix in a service manual. It worked, but my tape motor adjustment is off. So be carefull. The 3v dc is easy to make, connect 2 batteries 1.5v in serial, you get 3V dc. Let me know how it goed.
Remove the battery while the camera is at the "on" position then put it
back. Press the forward or rewind button then stop. This should solve
your problem. It works for ither JVC owners. Are you try with other new tape?
Turn's out that JVC Does that to protect your camcorder some do it some
don't because there might not be a problem and JVC will pay a tech to
unlock this mode under waranty and you can get extended waranty by
calling satis fusion at 1-888-269-6432 even your item is out of waranty.
Hi...Tape jam inside your Camcorder ...fi you look careful on the side of the door tray look for a little hole it releasemanually the door but carefully remove the tape.. it possible the tape is unroll around the mecanism see if you cant release the pinch roller inside it a little black roiling rubber,it holding the ribbon tape
The way I can get a tape unjammed on my Sony camera is to remove the battery, plug the camera into the AC charger that is plugged into the wall outlet. Then power the camera on, wait a few seconds. Then unplug the charger from the outlet, wait a few more seconds (camera still in "on" position) and then plug it back in. I have used this method at least 3 times to get the camera to release the tape.
