Question about Western Digital WD2500JS 250GB SATA2 7200rpm 8MB 250 GB SATA II Hard Drive

1 Answer

I have a WD2500AAJS-00B4A0 hard drive that will not boot. it goes to black screen with white letters saying windows did not properly open in my last session. it gives the options for opening in safe mode and opening in windows. I tried all options and it always ends up back at this screen. when I click the "open windows" options, it looks like it is trying to open...shows XP for a few seconds then back to that black screen with options. is it possible to convert the hard to drive to a usb drive so I can back up the date and use it in another computer? any suggestions on a fix? thanks!

Hard disk is not boot up after windows screen appears

It seems you computer is not recognising the hard-drive, on boot up, because it doesn't know where to look, i.e. it is booting up to a different drive letter. Have you got more than one drive on the system? If you have you will need to reconfigure the bootup list. Good Luck. George

Aspire One PC Notebook Your question about Aspire One PC Notebook has been posted. Whats wrong with my Acer Laptop when i turn on its black with white letters saying PXE-E63:Error while initializing

Remove the hard drive and reseat (reconnect). Check BIOS by pressing an F key during boot. Look on the screen for correct Function key. Might be F2 key. Verify BIOS recognizes the drive. It must be listed! There is no going forward if it's not. Check boot order and make internal hard drive first. Save and restart.

My toshiba laptop will not turn on completely

It sounds like your machine is trying to boot off somewhere other than your hard drive such as a LAN. When you turn your machine on make sure you look hard and see what it says you have to hit in order to get into the Bios or System Setup. You want to go into it and make sure your boot order has your hard drive as the first option to boot from.

This is a hard drive issue, remove hardware and reseat it back into place, sometimes this will work and run fine. But it is more than likely your hard drive will need to be replaced.

Hello.

Sounds like the Windows Recovery Partition is corrupted or your hard drive may be faulty.

But, first try to boot your system in Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly as it boots) and choose Safe Mode or Last Known Good.

If it still doesn't boot properly, try the diagnostics to determine if a hardware problem - boot your system and press F 12 (or F2) repeatedly.

Hope this helps.

The computer is trying to boot but it can't access the hard disc drive with the operating system on it to boot up. Make sure the hard disc drive is properly connect to the motherboard. If it is properly connected then it is possible your hdd has failed and needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled. Another thing you can try is determining the maker of your hard disc drive and download thier utility from their website to run on the hdd to try and repair it.

hope this helps

My computer wont boot up.

depends what the error is. I don't know why people never include them in the problem statement, it would make things easier.

Usually there is a cover with a single or two screws where your hard drive is installed. You can remove the cover, take out the one or two holding screws for your hard drive "slide" it out, and then push it back in and reseat it if you think that is the problem. Do you hear the system fan? Do you hear the hard drive running? What does the bios message say while it is booting (the white letters before windows loads) If it goes by too fast you can pause it so you can read it....Try going into setup when it boots and see if your bios has a hard drive test. Laptop hard drives do go out...some of them right away. They are very sensitive to heat (don't run laptop on top of a bed, blanket, pillow, or any other such thing that prevents ventilation) and vibrations and bumps and such that may occur while running. If any of this has happended, it's possible the hard drive has become damaged. Only way to tell is to test it somehow...either in bios, or on another machine.
