I have this problem too. I pulled all the covers off the unit and I found some of the sensors and the plastic "switches" that attach to those sensors for the paper. I have also read what information that there is available in the manuals

I changed the drum and now have the same red paper light flashing
problem and it won't print. What is the deal? The drum was expensive! I've tried a different drum, tried changing the drum within the toner unit holder... tried everything without any success. I'm running it on a MAC with OS 10.3.9.. it shouldn't matter..... HELP

I have the Brother HL-2070N and looks as if the paper can not be seen by the printer, the red light comes on the moment I start my print job, could it be that tha whhels is unable to pull paper in?

I have the same problem with a Brother HL 2040, there is plenty of paper in the tray but the light flashes and I can't do anything. It should be the drum as the printer is quite new. I don't understand the comment about the drum and removing it. I need simple step by step instructions about what to do.

I had a paper jam, which I cleared. Now it won't print and the red light keeps flashing. Has a new toner and drum. Now what?

F the Drum LED is still lit after replacing the drum unit, the Drum counter may not be reset.
Reset the Drum counter as follows:

  1. Open the front cover.
  2. Locate the control panel button under the LED lights on the left side.
  3. Press the control panel button until all lights are lit, then release it.
The Drum counter is now reset.

Every picture has red eye

That's because of the flash position being so close to the center of the lens. You are not alone with this problem as pretty well every point and shoot camera will suffer some type of flash red eye.

Some of the upper level pint and shoot have a red eye reduction mode that can be used check your manual. What this does is sends out a high intensity light so your subject's pupils will close down then the pictures is made. Others will have a red eye correction function built into the camera. If you have Photoshop I believe under tools there is a red eye correction tool. I'm using Photoshop CS4 and it's in that and I believe it's on PS 7 and PS 5 I'm not sure if Elements has it or not.

There isn't a whole lot you can do about it due to the location of the flash. The flash needs to be above the center line of the lens by at least 6 inches and even then depending on the subject to camera distance it's possible to get red eye.

What is the red light mean on my Stihl 066

here is a copy from an article i was reading

It features a "red light" on the right hand side above the tuning screws which illuminates at a set RPM to assist in tuning the high speed mixture screw, which is great when using the saw out in the field as no tachometer is required to give the saw a quick tune before commencing work. It allows peace of mind knowing that your saw is always tuned correctly and not running a lean mixture which causes damage very quickly. Incorporated with this "red light" system is a rev limiter, so even if the saw is tuned incorrectly it will not allow the saw to over-rev due to a lean out condition and blow up the saw!!

Red eye on sanyo digital camera xacti, always theres a red eye when taking pictures,i already adjusted everything, still occuring red eye.

Do you mean your subject's eyes are showing "redeye"? This is a common problem with cameras that have the flash very close to the lens. Almost every photo editing program has a tool to remove red-eye. Check your computer to see what you have installed. In the future, most cameras have a red-eye flash setting which shoots a short flash before the main flash to close down the pupils in your subjects eyes to eliminate red-eye. You could also turn up the lights in the room...sometimes that helps.

Portrait provides extra sharp focus on the subject. It also opens the aperture some, and may in SOME cases give you a blurred backbround depending on the distance of the subject and background to the camera.

If outdoors, consider setting the camera to manual flash so that it will lighten the subject. If indoors, consider turning off the flash. You may need to provide better external lighting on the subject, or use a tripod and ask the subject to hold still during the picture.

Try increasing the zoom (best is to set it to maximum), and then adjust your distance from the subject to get as close as possible. Note that you still might be standing relatively far away because of the zoom.

Another way to experiment further with focus and blurred backgrounds is to use aperture priority (Av) mode on your dial. Use the right/left button to set the lowest "f-number" on your screen. The lower the number, the greater the aperture. All other functions of your camera will automatically compensate. Again, use max zoom in taking closeups with low "f-numbers". Also experiment with the manual focus to pay particular attention to achieving sharp focus on your subjects eyes.

You have a very capable camera. It can do what you're thinking of. You just need to practice with it. It's digital, experiment with the above techniques. Throw away the bad pics and keep the good, noting which technique worked best for the lighting and situation.

Why do I always get "red eye" in my photos?

The simple answer is that the flash on a point and shoot camera is so close to the lens that the light bounces off the back of the subjects eye and you get the red of the blood vessels. That's why cameras have a flash setting called "red eye" which is very useful when shooting in a low light situation.

Red eye problem

Try being closer to the subject when you shoot, as this helps a bit. There are heaps of software on the computer that will get rid of red eye. Though this can be tedious it is probably the best solution.
programs like Photoshop and Paintshop Pro do a good job

This is a great camera! Are you using the focus guide to focus on your main subject. Move the camera until your main subject is in the bos ten depress the shutter button 1/2 way down to focus the subject. Leave you finger there at the focus point-You can then move the camera to take in more objects or people and gently push the shutter all the way down. Generally, the causes of out of focus photos are:

the camera in the wrong mode-just start with the general mode-usually a little camera symbol

do not change any settings-if you have go to the menu button and settings and go back to default settings

the focus feature of the camera 9explained above is not being used

You are too close to the subject (use the zoom instead)

You are experiencing camera movement by pressing on the shutter too hard or moving your hands. A tripod always works best.

You can go to and obtain a manual for your camera if you do not have it.

If your camera still gives you blurry photos, please get back to me with any info that might help- have you dropped it or gotten it wet or anything like that?

Thank you for using Fix YA and please don't forget to rate me!

It Started with the Light Changing...

This problem suggests either a problem with the enclosure electronics or your drive is having electrical/physical problems. First thing I would do is: If running Win2K, WinXP or Vista, check the System event log for errors relating to the "Disk". If no errors, try another USB port or another computer. See what happens. The Blue light is power, the red light is activity, a constant red light means interface problems (as noted above). There are more troubleshooting procedures after the above, but for now they are a bit premature (and lengthy). Let me know what happens. ZT3000 "Beta tester of "0"s and "1's"
