Question about Iomega 1TB Home Media Network Hard Drive (34337BN)

1 Answer

I installed the Iomega 1tb Home Media Network Drive on my network yesterday and it published itself. I enabled the port forwarding on my netgear wireless router. I then set some files to copy to the Hard Drive overnight. I noticed the copy did not work and it froze. I switched off the Hard Drive and disabled the port forwarding on the router. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the HMNHD software and turned off the Hard Drive and reset it many times but it doesnt have the white light on for longer than a minute and doesn't publish itself on the network. Unsure of what to do next? Frazzled

Check tcp ip settings of your harddrive. Make sure it is in the range of your local network. check the ping command from computer if you get reply then it is in network. Then you can use it. Make sure network cable is fine. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Reboot the network drive and the router, this usually works when mine doesn't show. You may need to disconnect any mapped drives, as it may show with a new ip address. Computer may also need to be rebooted.

The drive will not update itself automatically. You will have to download the firmware update and update it yourself. You may also want to get the latest Manager software that is Windows 7 compatible.

Yes, I just had the same problem. All you need to do is go to safe mode on your computer, search for the file "QSFSltr.sys" and delete that filthy *******.
From there you have too choices. 1: use your warranty to get the money back for the **** you bought, with no ability to get support from the company.2: Use it, and don't download any of iomegas software in the future. (can still be used as plug-and-play)
