Question about GE A1255 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I purchased this camera yesterday. I tried to download pictures and got all the ARC products download which I really do not want and then could not find the way to just download the photos onto my PC. We did have the camera set to the USB setting on the camera. Does this not have a simple way to just download the pictures? I have had KoDak easyshare cameras and a Canon and never had this problem before.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Try downloading all your pictures from the card to your computer and then reformatting the card. Alternatively, try another card. What happens then?

Many times the older version drivers will work as new released operating systems try to be backwards compatible with software. Try loading the XP software or search the Canon website for updated software for your model.

I took many pictures yesterday, as i connected it to the computer, it says no valid pictures to view. i really need them. im actually very disappointed.

Have you tried opening the chip as an external storage device in windows explorer? I suspect that the photos are all there but in a folder that the automatic viewer/downloader does not recognize. You should be able to do this even using the camera's USB connection. If not, try using your card reader.

You should be able to just remove the memory card and put it in the computer to view and upload the pictures if you have an SD card slot. Otherwise you can go here to download the software if you're trying to use a usb cable...

Yesterday, did you use the computer to delete the older pictures? Don't ever do that. For now, you can use a card reader to download your pictures to your computer. After they are safely downloaded, format the card in the camera and don't let it get that full again.

If your camera works, be happy. Use a card reader to download your pics to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, you can send your pics anywhere you want.

I can't seem to upload my pictures from my camera to my computer. I've tried downloading software to just plain waiting. Please help I really want my pictures on my computer

If you are using a memory card to store images on your camera, you can get an external usb card reader to download your images. Attach the reader to your computer, insert the sd memory card, and copy the images to your hard drive. If you are using the built in memory, try going here to find a software download: http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/ekn034495.jhtml?pq-path=11888#

Sounds like you're switching the same card between cameras. Rule #1...one card per camera. Format the card in the camera it is to be used in. There is no Rule #2.

Good day,

being a 10.3 megapixel model, it sure must deliver high quality images. try tinkering with the camera's settings maybe you can find one that suits your needs. also, try transferring your photos in you computer, the pictures can be viewed better that way as compared to viewing it in the camera's 2.7 inch LCD.

on the other hand, if you are really not satisfied with your product, check with your seller's terms of service. they may accept the item provided that you purchase another with the same amount or higher.

i hope this helps
