Question about GPS

I have a 2001 Y reg 2.0 litre Mondeo Ghia X. I have a problem with the battery going flat, and won't start the engine , if the car is left in the garage and not used for a day or two. The AA have fitted two new batteries and can't detect any current leakage - but to no avail. I have taken the car to two different garages - one a Ford agent - and neither were able to solve the problem. My local garage suggested that it could be a faulty door lock solenoid - on a couple of occasions, (but not consistently), the driver's side rear door hasn't locked when the car has been locked using the remote key fob. When I leave the car in the garage I don't lock it with the remote. I've also checked in a dark garage that courtesy lights, including the one in the boot, have switched off. What do you suggest to solve my flat battery problem. Ian Garnett

The only way to find out where is the current leak is too start testing: all you will need is a lot of time and a simple Ampermeter. Start from the battery and disconnect one cable at a time, then insert the meter in the circuit - if the leaky part is on that circuit the meter will show a current is present when it shouldn't. Follow the circuit and by exclusion you will reach the faulty part - replace or disconnect it.
But, in my experience, the most common causes for that are alarms and radios that are always powered , even when they are supposedly offline/shut down. You could start with them and save you a lot of time in testing.

I have a 53 plate mondeo ghia X 130bhp tdci modelwith approx 145K miles on the clock. It has been cutting out when driving,twice today on the way to work & on the way back! Just been serviced,new...

2.0 litre petrol engine crank bearings and small end bearings gone, can this work be done without taking out the engine ? Mondeo is a 52 plate 2.0 Ghia Eurotorque engine.


No,as the pistons only come out from the top.
why dont you get a recon short engine,all the work has been done for you....
