Hello, we have a scanjet 8250, installed under Windows 7 64Bit with Office 2010 32 Bit installed with new drivers. I would like to scan documents to *.pdf, but I only have .tif, .png, .pcx and .jpg options to send the file to. Also in the settings in the HP solution center I have no *.pdf-option. Under our old installation (Windows XP, Office 2000 etc.) it worked fine. Does anyone has a remedy for my problem? Ruth

    converter jpeg to pdf does not solve our problem as the files have to be searchable in the end. I do want that my scans are sent to either pdf or MS word2010. We have Acrobat X standard installed on our system. Under the old installation the scanner opended the HP Scan Center Software where the final destination of my file could be fixed.

To be able to scan to pdf a special program must be used. This program must be licenced from Adobe, at a great cost and with a lot of limitations. Because of that the program is available only on the install disk that comes with the printer. Since the original install disk has only the XP drivers it means that there is no official conversion program available.
You will have to scan your files to an image format - bmp is the best here - and then convert it with another separate program. This one will do just hat and it's free

Windows 7 and HP scanjet 8250, 8200, 8270; front panel buttons and searchable...
How to install a HP scanjet 8250 in windows 7 with full features like double side scans and searchable PDF creator.

The basic driver automatically installs with windows 7.
The basic driver lets you scan one page at a time and does not let you do advanced options like double side and creating searchable PDF's.
HP has a software package listed for the HP 8270 scanjet that works properly with the 8250 scanner. I would assume that any scanner in the 8200 series would work with this software.
For full scanning features, I installed the HP photoshop essentials and the HP solution center. Click on the software link .."HP scanjet Full Feature Software and Driver"
After the install run the setup and follow the directions,
After the install, the front panel buttons on the scanner should now work. You should also be able to create PDF's(searchable) with the one touch of the scanner button.

Scanjet 4470c. Can't get it to work with Windows 7. Any ideas on a solution or is there a Windows 7 driver out there?
Hi ,
I succeeded to make my Scanjet 4470c run in WIA mode under W7 32-bit Ultimate . Should also work with W7 64-bit .
Make sure driver XP ( yes , XP ) is correctly installed .
Then , download and install FreeKapture ( yes , it's free ) from here : http://download.cnet.com/FreeKapture/3000-2094_4-10673689.html
Load Freekapture , clic on Scan and select WIA-Hewlett-Packard . Scanner works fine in this mode but if you choose HP PrecisionScan Pro , program will freeze .
In any case , no slides or negatives scans possible but the rest works .

Scanjet 5470c with WIndows 7?
better download the latest driver for your scanner from the hp's website and while selecting the new driver you have to specify that you are using windows 7 and also specify if it is 32 bit or 64 bit you will get the driver , install it and connect the scanner it will work ..... thats all....

HP 8270 does not scan on windows Vista . Could not complete scan is the error message
Make sure you have the newest vista drivers located here - also, make sure that the scanner platen is travelling the full length of the scanner, it's not being hung up somewhere causing it to jam. Try to scan while the cover is open to watch the scanner head travel.

Document feeder
You would face the taxt or images face up then you would scan it by using the program it came with if it did or any othere program the can scan documents and imagees on you computer. Make shure all conecsions are conect property and the software is installed.
