How do I reset my dyson dc25

You may need a new belt if the brush bar motor is working properly. It could be the switch or brush bar motor if the motor does not run .

Dyson brush wont turn

Hi There is a reset switch on your Dyson that needs to be pressed when something gets stuck in the brushes. The reset switch helps protect the motor that spins the brush from damaging if something gets stuck inside the brushes. There is a little red pole that sits up behind the brushes on the vacuum head, I believe it's on the left side of the floor head as if you were behind the machine vacuuming. Try pushing this reset switch first.

Brushes wont go round

Hi there,

Your DC24 is equipped with a sensor which shuts off the brushbar if something jams it. Once you've checked the cleaner head for obstructions, and removed any threads or hair from around the brushbar, you should be able tor reset the machine as shown in the video below.

You may also want to refer to our online Support guide:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc24/dc24-multi-floor/my-machine-is-not-working/my-brushbar-is-not-rotating/stabiliser-check

Please note, the brushbar will never rotate when the machine is standing upright, so make sure you recline the machine into the vacuuming position before testing it.

This should resolve the issue, but if you'd like any further assistance or advice, please give our customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

My Dyson DC17 sucked up a scarf for about 5 seconds before I could shut it off. The belt did not break however the roller brush will not turn now! I looked for a reset button when checking the belt but...

To be on the safe side I would remove the brush just as if I was going to put on a new belt. Perhaps your belt stretched just enough so that it will not get a grip on the motor spindle and brush. Clean the brush while you have it off and be sure it turns freely. You can see details at this URL: http://media.dyson.com/downloads/US/floorcare/manuals/dc17_opmanual_usa.pdf Also at this URL you can see the ON/OFF button for the brush itself, did it get turned off accidently?
If you find this solution to be helpful, I would appreciate a Thumbs Up rating from you. Paul

Beater bar not working

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

If the brush control has been switched off the brush bar won't go round when the vacuum cleaner is lowered into the vacuuming position. If this is in the correct position, we would recommend checking the brush bar and cleaner head for blockages as this can prevent the brush bar turning.

If none of the above resolves the problem, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Many thanks

Beeter brush not spinning

Hi If the Dyson has a brush protected switch on the left hand side of the machine, then it has a drive belt that can only be replaced by a serviceman or Dyson repairer. If the Dyson doesn't have brush protection, then pop open the sole plate and change the drive belt.

No suction when vacuming floors

Hi.

There are 2 types of Dc07 one is clutched & has two belts the second has only one belt going from motor to brush roller.

Lay machine on its side pull back handle as if you are to vac carpet switch machine on look to see if brush roller is spinning.

If it is not spinning unplug machine from mains supply & remove the sole plate by turning the three plastic screws to unlock position, Lift sole plate away if you have non clutched machine you will now see the brush roller with A belt going from this to the motor shaft belt may have snapped or come off so replace it.

If your Dyson has A clutch unit this engages the brush roller when you pull the handle back to vacuum.

Check the clutch control knob which is at the bottom left side of machine looking from the front.
It should rotate to drive position when handle is pulled back.

If it doesnt turn the knob by hand to drive.

If you still have no brush rotation after doing all this then either the clutch is faulty or the second belt which goes clutch to motor has snapped & will need replacing.

There are service manuals available for these repairs at this site
