Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

1 Answer

Hi, I have eMachines E640-N833G25Nnks, P/N: LX.NA102.059, Model: NEW85, S/N: LXNA10205902804E2A1601. It is: proc: AMD Phenom II X3 Mobile Processor N830, graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250, mem: 3GB, Storage: 250 GB HDD, WLAN: 802.11b/g/n and 6-cell Li-ion battery. My problem is: last time my laptop lowered battery output - it means laptop charged battery till 50%, then 32%, then 25% and now 15%. Charging light on laptop is still orange even when laptop is being charged for 9 hours and never change to blue (indicating stop charging) and after plug out power supply battery is still 15%. Is it common failure? What should I do? I bought laptop 6 months ago in Argos in Ireland so still have warranty for it. How long laptop will be fixed if I return it to store? Thanks for quick answer.

I Googled to see if there was any problems related to battery sensors, seems eMachines laptops don't have that problem, the laptop runs well while plugged in, so it's not internal circuitry, I believe it's a battery problem, as you say charging level has been decreasing progressively, try your battery on another laptop to see if the battery is the problem and just in case try a friend's battery on your laptop to completely eliminate doubts about battery sensors, if you don't have a friend with a similar laptop I would go the safe way and send the battery for replacement, if the store where you bought it is in the same country you should get the laptop there so they check out what's going on, if you live in a different country read the manual or click "eMachines customer support" to see if there's any tech support near your city, I still believe it's a battery problem.
Not I'm gonna give you some advice on taking care of your laptop's battery: - When you get new batteries make sure you charge them at least 12 hours before using it. - If you're not going to use your laptop in a while (one or two weeks) get the battery to full charge and then deattach it from the computer, put it back in if you're going to use it. - If using your battery periodically get it to full charge and deplete your battery's energy completely by using the computer until it turn's off itself and then recharge it completely again at least once a week.
If you have any questions, I'll be glad to help. Have a nice day.

Hi there I have the same problem with the same model: the battery capacity started to decrease a month ago. Now it's stopping at around 50% and not charging above anymore. I bought the note 6 months ago.

How do I upgrade an AMD Phenom II x3 710

I suspect you mean the Motherboard that has the AMD Phenom II x3 710.

If so then find specifications on that motherboard to see what better, faster? CPU is compatible with it.

4th Core is Disabled by AMD and you need to know how to enable it?
Maybe this can help.
Overclocking Phenom II x3 710 2 6GHz to 3 5GHz unlocking 4th core

Is the Am3+ socket also possible for sapphire AM3RS890G2?

am3+ socket is what the socket is listed on the motherboard, so if you have a CPU that fits only AM3+, the CPU wont fit it unless directed by the CPU manufacture seeing that AM3+ is for AMD processors only if you have a older AM3 CPU it might fit the AM3+ motherboard if listed, this paticular model only lists AM3 and fits Sempron, Phenom II X3, Athlon II X2, Phenom II X2, Athlon II X4, Athlon II X3, Phenom II X4, Phenom II X6

I want to install win xp on VPCEE29FX/BI

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit CPU Type: AMD Phenom II Triple-Core P820 1.8G Why would you want to "downgrade" from the high-performance 64-bit version of Windows 7 to Windows XP?

XP probably won't support the "triple-core" processor, nor the sound-card, nor the video-card, nor the USB ports. This would leave you with a very CRIPPLED computer.

Don't try it!

Amd athlon ii x3 450 best compitible mother board

asus makes the Best mainboards in my opinion, All AM3 boards. You get what you pay for so it's worth spending a bit more to get a good mainboard.

Example: ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 is a really good option, however I myself would pair this mainboard with a AMD Phenom 2. Though your X3 450 will work well in this mainboard too.
The best compatible mainboard would be the ASUS Crosshair IV Formula or Extreme edtion, however your CPU will be a bottle neck in the system.
The ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 is really good looking and it performs really well too.

You could go for an ASUS 785/790/870/880/890 North Bridge chipset AM3 Socket.
You could even purchase an AM3+ mainboard that will support AMD's new Phenom module CPU's.
Go to www.asus.com and check out the AMD mainboard range that they produce.

Take care!

Sir, My motherboard model K9A2VM-FV2 Ineed to

it's for AM2+ that means, any AMD proc socket AM2 or AM3 would do. such as: Athlon 64, Athlon X2, Athlon II, Phenom and Phenom II. but use only 65 watt proc or less, any higher maybe won't compatible.
it has integrated video. no need video card, but if you insist (especially for gaming) use any good PCIE video card
