Question about Kenwood Food Mixers
I have been given my grandmother's Kenwood Major A707A Food Mixer which appears to be a jem but it's not working properly! When you turn it on the blender bit spins round and the motor sounds fine but the rotating main mixer bit doesn't move. My husband has open up the top of it and the band is fine. It seems to us that something (perhaps a cog?) is not connecting when you manually push the rod thing down and if it did that would make the mixer rotate. He couldn't get into the next bit as it looks like a sealed gasket (?!).
My nearest Kenwood repair place is in Poole but if this sounds like an unrepairable problem them it's not really worth the petrol taking it over there (we are in Weymouth). Any suggestions or advice gratefully received. Thank you, Catherine
Have recently inherited an old Kenwood Major A707A with same problem, contacted local electrical repair man, experienced with Kenwood mixers. He is fitting a new clutch, will cost about £30. I think its worth it. Anyone out there know where I can get Instruction Manual ?
