How to connect speakers to RCA model #RP-8070D

This unit is just a 5 disc CD player and cannot drive large speakers all by itself. Normally it is hooked up to a stereo receiver / amplifier which is what provides the power to drive the speakers which are wired to the back of the stereo amplifier.

If you have a home stereo, then just run the cables from the 2 AUDIO OUT connectors on the back of your CD player to the CD IN connectors on the back of your stereo.

Then turn your stereo on and select CD on your stereo input mode selector and you should be able to play the cds on your RCA and hear them through the stereo speakers.

If you do not have a stereo amplifier with speakers to connect it to, then you can always listen to it through headphones connected to the headphone jack.

Or if you have a set of self powered amplified speakers, like the kind you hook up to a computer, then you can run the AUDIO OUT cable from your cd player into those as well.

Good luck.

We have a denon avr-589 5.1 system. It worked great until my son tried to hookup the wii into it. We now have no sound on the tv and dvd player. He normally plays the wii through the samsung flat screen...

foxtile,
How funny my son just did the same yesterday!

Make sure that the speaker selectors and the input modes are set correctly. He must have hit both buttons at the same time which turned off the speaker outputs and changed the input mode to a setup we were not using.

My creative zen mirco has a firmware problem and keeps going to recovery mode ??

Try the recovery tool from here (this is relevant to your recovery mode question also), but not all mp3 players will work with Windows Media Player 11 - causes a DB corruption - roll back to Windows Media Player 10 if this is the case:

My Philips SA2628/37 mp3 player will not be recognized by my computer and when I turn it on all it says is PHILIPS. What's wrong?

try this, right from the manual:

How do I reset my player?
To do a reset, extract and reinsert the battery.
If none of the above works, then you may have to use the Device
Manager to recover your player:
1. Launch the Philips Device Manager at Start > Programs > Philips Digital Audio
Player > SA26XX > Philips SA26XX Device Manager on your PC.
2. Press and hold the button while your player is connecting to the PC.
3. Keep holding the key until the Philips Device Manager acknowledges your player and goes
into recovery mode.
4. Click the Repair button and follow the instructions given by the Device Manager.
5. After the player has been repaired, disconnect it from your PC and re-start.

Protect Mode

Protect mode with nothing connected indicates an internal problem. Most likely one or more output transistors are shorted. This is a common problem with these and can easily be repaired by a shop for around $35 in parts plus the local labor rate. The output transistors are MN1620 and MP2488 (if memory serves me correctly).

Loses audio in tv mode

I had the same problem (CD mode) but today all audio is gone. I opened it up and found no visual problems. There are 3 main boards inside, one where all audio inputs go to. I think that board is bad. Not much help I know. Good luck finding the answer. I'm doing a search on know problems now, If I find anything, I'll post back.
