plug computer into ethernet port of router
Via blue ethernet cat5 patch cable
try user name admin
and password as password
try 192.168.1.1 ( later version of router ) or 192.168.0.1 for router ip address in an internet browser.
then look at the wi fi settings for wi fi security encrption key or add one if not set .
All netgear routers have the same default user names and passwords, so unless you have changed it you should still be able to use the default one set by the manufacture.
IP address: 192.168.1.1
User name: admin
This is the default info for netgear.
If you are looking for your wireless password it will be found in wireless settings of the router on the admin page for your router.
the default login for netgear routers is user name = admin and password = password. for older devices it is 1234. if you are unable to login. you can reset your router to factory settings by holding the reset button in with a paper clip for 30 seconds with the power on.
If you have changed the default password, you need to reset the router to the factory settings to get in with the default user and password (user admin and password as password, or if that doesn't work try 1234 - these are the default password for NetGear routers). Note that you will lose the ISP settings and wireless settings when you reset the router.
Here's a video on how to reset the router to the factory default settings: http://kbserver.netgear.com/media/flash/training/Troubleshooting/NG_WGR614V9Router_TS_LostPassword.html
to access the router you will need to open up your web browser and type in 192.168.0.1,it will then ask you for a user name and password ,the user name is admin, the password is password, that will get into the netgear utility for the router, that info can also be found on the bottom of router,if that doesnt work then you will have to reset the router to the default settings by holding in the reset button for about ten seconds located on the back ,you will have to use something that is small enough to depress it,you have to reset it while it is on,if you got it used then you should reset it anyway so that you can configure it according to your situation,ok have fun and good luck, you can get detailed info from netgears website.
If you've forgotten the Router password, then press the Router Reset button (a small point) located next to the Ethernet port on the Router to restore the Router to factory settings. After resetting the Router to factory defaults, use the default name and password.
