Question about HP DeskJet F380 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

All lights are on

My printer cannot be switched on initially. So HP gave me a new transformer. Now with the new transformer, it is permanently on with all the indicator lights on. It cannot be switched off using the power button, only by switching off the main supply.

Check it it must be faulty.if you will do such thing regularly it will damage your printer totally.as direct off will make your printer completly dead because off the short circuit failure.

check the flexible circuit between the switch and the board.....but make sure you disassemble it properly to avoid breaking the flex-circuit. It takes an experienced technician to check the flex-circuit connector with the board. There might be some broken path or circuit line going to the connector. Use jumper wire if its possible and don't forget to use multimeter to check for continuity of the circuit. (that's the same problem with my f380...all lights are on....and that's the same solution i did..and it works).

How to reset printer setting

Turn off the HP LaserJet 2840.

Press and hold down the "Enter" and "*" keys on the printer's control panel, and turn the printer back on.

Hold the "Enter" and "*" keys until you see the "Permanent Storage Init" message on the device control panel. Release the two keys to perform the NVRAM initialization. The NVRAM initialization takes just a few seconds, and the "Permanent Storage Init" message remains on the printer's display until the initialization is complete.

Ensure that the "Ready" message on the printer's control panel is visible. You can now connect the printer to your computer and print your documents. If the "Ready" message is not displayed and your printer is still stuck in a loop, turn off the printer and contact HP customer support (see Resources).

  • To reset an HP 2840 from your computer, open the HP Toolbox program, click "Device Settings," click "Service," click "Restore" in the Resets section and then click "OK" to confirm the action and restore the printer to its factory defaults.

Error 68.2 permanent storage write How do you fix the error?

all you have to do is initialize hard disk even if you do not have one. Just turn off the printer. Turn the printer back on and when the memory starts to count hold down the menu key until all three lights come on. When all three lights are on solid release the menu button and press the arrow back button and initialize disk should appear in the menu. Just hit the check mark button again and it should take care of the problem

Dead printer?

I assume the transformer has 2 wires coming out of it. My guess is that the wire from the transformer is working however the wire leading from the Transformer to the printer is not.

You may need to purchase another power unit.
But on the bright side, a transformer is cheaper than a new printer.
:)

Hope this helps.
