I have just bought a Netgear Modem Router. I also have a new Panasonic Cordless phone system. As soon as I make a telephone call or receive a call my Netgear Modem ceases to work and I lose the Internet connection? Please help me as Optus Technicians can't. Kali

Silly question maybe, but have you installed a line filter in the telephone socket where the phone is plugged in, or try moving the phone or router elsewhere as there may be interference if they are on the same MHZ channel

Need to hook up vetch cordless phone to my internet modem/router

Hi, this phone is analog so it can only be connected to a standard phone line, if your router or modem has a FXS connector (phone jack) with an active land line service, you could connect it there.

I bought a new Panasonic land line phone 6.0. The VM message comes up and stays on display on all three phones. There is no message. How do I remove the VM message?

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone service provider. This system records messages when people call while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone service provider for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

Panasonic KX-TGA101S Cordless bought from US not working in Chennai Telephones ,BSN L(India). Can I have the name of Converter which help it work in compatable frequency for caller ID Thanks Ravindran P

There isn't any converter available. The technology used for caller ID is different and the telephone was made for US use. There's no way to change the telephone to make it compatible. You will need to either get a new telephone made for your country, or find an external caller ID display unit.

I have Time Warner Service set up @ home for my Home PC. I bought a Netgear N300 Wireless Router for my laptop. Do I have to plg into the Time Warner Modem to set up my Laptop? ANd what do I do?

The modem wants to plug into the wan or internet port on the router, this port is usually different in color and location from other wired ports.

You will want to program the router settings, either use the wizard, or change: Wireless security wit WEP at least, and give a password, like you home or cell phone number (which you can remember when a guest comes and needs access), change system ID to something you would remember, change router access password AND LOG IT,
and check that the router broadcasts it's presence (usually set to yes), and finally change the channel to 11 and get less landline wirelss phone interference.

To do this programming, by the way, you usually need to plug into the modem with a network cable and direct your browser to it, something similar to 192.168.1.1 in the address bar, but get the manual and follow their directions.

Interference from 5.8 GHz cordless phones

I fixed my own problem. I went to the system setup page for the router and changed the channel to another mghz setting. I found one that didn't conflict with the cordless phones. My son is very happy now that he doesn't get kicked out of Halo3 every time we get a phone call.

Will the MR314 interfere with my cordless telephone?

If you have a 2.4 GHz cordless phone, then potentially the 802.11b Wireless network and the phone can interfere with one another. In order to avoid the interference, change the channel on the cordless phone or at the access point.
