Need to replace lightbulb for model # 721 8080 2400 for the light under the unit that shines on the cook top not reference to what size bulb is needed

to replace the bulb in microwave ovens you will have to take the outside case off the unit as the bulb placement is not accessible from inside the oven
when you get to the bulb take it to an appliance repair shop and they will have a bulb

Is this a countertop microwave or an over-the-rang (OTR) microwave? If it's a countertop model, you need to completely remove the outer case to get to the lightbulb. If it's and OTR microwave, there usually is an access cover located behind the grill vent. You can remove that grille vent by removing the 2 to 4 screws above the grill vent. Then either slide the grill vent 1/4" to the left to remove it, or else (depending on the model), just pull out the top of the grill vent, followed by the bottom. Then you should be able to see the lightbulb access cover. Usually there is 1 screw that you have to remove. But unplug the microwave before you to any further! Now remove the screw, lift up and remove the cover, and you should be able to get to the light bulb.

Hello - This may or may not be specifically for your model, however these are generics instructions that I found.

To replace the light bulb to the over the range microwave you will need to follow the steps below:

1. To replace light bulb, first disconnect power to the microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging.

2. Remove the vent grill mounting screws.

3. Pull the vent grill away from the unit.

4. Remove the charcoal filter by pushing it inwards, then turn and pull it away from the unit.

5. Open light cover located behind filter mounting by carefully pulling up on the front edge.

6. Remove old light bulb and replace only with equivalent 30 watt bulb available from part distributor. Bulbs are also available at most hardware stores or lighting centers.

7. Replacing the microwave oven light cover by carefully pushing into place. Replace the charcoal filter. Push the vent grill back into place (engaging both the bottom and top tabs) and replace the vent grill mounting screws.

Note: DO NOT USE BULB LARGER THAN 30 WATTS.

To replace the bulb you will need to first remove the top grille.

- Unplug the power cord, it is usually in the cabinet above the microwave.

- Remove the upper grill, if you stand on a stool and look at the top you will see 4 screws going down into the grill, take those out and carefully pull the top of the grille forward then up and off, it is easier if you do this with the door open.

- In the very front center of the opening you will see a small black cover (about the size of a playing card), remove the cover and you will see the bulb.

- Match it up at your favorite retailer and enjoy watching your food cook again!

I would think that you can find that info either in the owners manual or right in the area where the light resides. Usually there is a sticker there with the info you need. Best wishes!

The bulb is a halogen (part number 53001905). You can view the bulb at searspartsdirect.com. Type in your model number and look under the "Base/Latch Board Assembly" heading for item 6. Although it does not list the size, it does list the type and part number. Your hardware store may be able to cross this number for you and find the bulb you need.

PS There is a better view of the bulb at appliancepartspros.com. Just type in the part number above and you will see a photograph. Are you in Canada? If so, you may enquire one of these sites also to see if they will ship to Canada.

i know this is going to make no sense . but in my samsung service cd it is in BOLD PRINT YOU MUST DISCONECT POWER BEFORE REPLACEING BULBS , OR DAMAGE TO TIMER WILL RESULT ! the first time you changed them did you disconect power ? if not , your board might be toast , $$$$$$$$$

You can locate the correct bulb that you need at www.repairclinic.com. They have an extensive assortment for all appliances. When you search for your bulb keep in mind to put in the complete model # that is on your unit. Also this site can help you find a different replacement since it shows the type and size of bulb. Go by the wattage rating and what it looks like to fit right in. There are other similar sites and even belonging to Delonghi.com but I believe the repairclinic site is better.

You are describing the little bulb in the front. The speedcook light is a different bulb
