Not power my nuvi 760 will not power on

    my garmin nuvi 760 did not come on and when i hooked it for charging in my car it did not start , i took to the pc there was no response to .
    How can i check the battery (it is sealed within the unit)

Hi,

Initially, pls try:

  • check the A/C or car charger unit if there is an output voltage;
  • soft reset, slide the power switch and hold for 8 or more seconds until the unit resets.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

If the Touch Screen is not working properly, Calibrate the touch screen..

Turn he unit off then on.... Slide Power Key to the right ( lock )

Hold finger on screen for about 30 seconds until calibration screen appears... for on screen instructions

If the Touch Sceen is not responding properly, calibrate the touch screen.. Turn the Nuvi off then back on Slide Power key to the right (lock) Hold your finger on the secrren for 30 seconds until the calibration screen appears Follow the on-screen instructions

I am not receiving any sound form my nuvi 760


Have you checked the sound level, or the possiblity that it is muted?
this is common with the 760 since everything is accessed via the touchscreen menu

Does the Garmin Nuvi 760 require an additional memory card for normal use?

The simple answer is : no it does not need and SD card to work

New Nuvi 760 that won't work


Using the PC to charge a Nuvi is not the correct way to charge. Use either the AC wall charger or DC car charger. Many PC USB ports can not supply enough current to charge a Nuvi.

Assembling nuvi 760


Attach the window mount to your GPS unit ...it clips into the bottom. Insert the power supply into the mount on the right side. Of course plug it in to your power supply in your vehicle that is hot or turn on your cars power supply
