Script error: index out of range

When I try to start one of the languages in Rosetta Stone I get a pop up window that says "index out of range." It asks me if I want to continue running scripts and if i click yes, it does the same exact thing again. If I click no, it shuts down the program. Can you please help me solve this problem?

Error 9119 rosetta stone

When you install Rosetta Stone it puts its language files in a different folder. When you uninstall the program the language files are left intact and are never touched. If a problem occurs and one of the language files becomes corrupt and unreadable you're going to get that error 9119 every time when you try to re-install your language pack. Each language level has THOUSANDS of files in hundreds of sub-folders. Each file in those sub-folders has an hexadecimal name of 40 or more characters in length. So good luck trying to find the corrupt file(s). Also, because the file or files are corrupt, they can't be read or deleted. You're going to have to perform chkdsk on your hard drive to recover the bad sectors...eventually. The quickest and simplest way to fix your Rosetta Stone problem is to rename the folder where it puts its language files to something else. On an xp system the default name is "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Rosetta Stone". I changed mine to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Garbage Files". That way when Rosetta Stone goes to install its language files it will recreate the folder cleanly instead of trying to overwrite the old folder and its corrupt files. That will solve your problem. You can then run chkdsk at your leisure. Good luck and spread the word.

Do you have the issue with other levels or languages as well? Maybe you can try removing and then adding the languages again, and see if that helps. As a last resort, you can also try reinstalling Rosetta Stone if this occurs with all languages and levels you own.

Loaded Start disc. When installing my language disc 1, I get an 9123 error code and a message " there was an error in the application". I cannot uninstall, because I get messages "...

Version 3/4: Error 9123 during Language CD installation

This error message relates to Version 3 and Version4. If you receive a 9123 error message during language installation, try one of the following resolutions:
  • Clean the disc with alcohol/windex/water and a soft cloth and try installing again.
  • Disable your internet security program, especially Norton or Symantec Security and try installing again.

Well if it works in XP and Vista then it is safe to say it isn't compatible with W7.

Remember, Windows 7 is not going to be released for another 2+ months.
I have found a large number of programs that just don't work with W7.

Your best bet is to check on Rosetta Stone's website to find out if they list W7 as a supported OS.
