When I try to start one of the languages in Rosetta Stone I get a pop up window that says "index out of range." It asks me if I want to continue running scripts and if i click yes, it does the same exact thing again. If I click no, it shuts down the program. Can you please help me solve this problem?

Go to System Preferences (click on the apple in upper left corner of monitor and pull down) Look for "hardware" and click on "sound". Is your mike on? Make sure your "output" level is high. Hope it helps!
I started getting "Error 2123" recently, and spent A LOT of time searching for the fix. Here is what finally worked:
Find the hidden file "tracking.db3". It's in the hidden folder
"ProgramData/Rosetta Stone" under the "C:" directory. Copy and paste it
to the Rosetta Stone install directory (Program Files/Rosetta Stone).
Error 2123 should be gone, but now there will be Error 2125. So, in the
Rosetta Stone install directory, run the "service_installer" .exe file
by double-clicking it.
I found the answer. Rosetta Stone has a problem detecting the mics if the speaker input is not in someway connected to the mic. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I don't care and neither should you.
Follow these steps each time you want to use it and you should be fine. *I'm on Vista, but this should work for every one. 1. Open Control Panel 2. Open Hardware and Sound 3.Open Sound 4.Set Line 1 as your Default Speaker 5. Refresh the Mic list *All of your mics should now show up. 6. In Rosetta Stone, apply the mic you want and finish the setup. 7.Start whatever language you're using and switch back to the Sound menu. 8.Set whatever speaker you want to use as default. *Rosetta Stone will continue to work fine until you close it, switch Users, or remove the mic.
In short you have to set the default speaker to LINE 1 to get the mics to appear. Then when you apply the settings switch the default speaker back.
