Trying to hook tv up outside of house ran cable from box in my house wont run my tv outside can I buy hdmi ******* and have it work ? Thanks

I'm hoping you hooked the cable you ran for the outside tv to the output of the cable box and didn't make the mistake of splitting the cable that comes into the satellite box. If you take the cable that goes to your TV inside you should be able to put a splitter in it and run the TV inside as well as the one outside. If it is a long distance to the outside TV you may want to buy a powered splitter that amplifies the signal. You should also be using RG6 coaxial cable to cut down on lose.

I have a THS220 box and have difficulty recording programmes

Hello Joan,

To record a satellite you will need two scart leads.

Plug one end of the first scart lead into the "DVD/VCR SCART" socket on the back of the satellite receiver, then plug the other end into the "INPUT" scart on the back of the VCR. Take one end of the second scart lead and plug it into the "OUTPUT" socket on the back of the VCR and plug the other end into "SCART IN" socket on the back of the TV.

To record, select the satellite channel you want to record, then, on the VCR, select scart input, (at this point, you can record a satellite program). To watch a satellite channel or recorded satellite channel, select the scart input on the TV.

If you need anymore information, then let me know.

Kind regards,

Ron.

I recently moved and just got my outdoor speakers hooked up. When I turn on Zone 2, I get sound from my Ipod, but when I set Zone 2 to have music play from my satellite box, I get nothing. The music will...

If your satellite box is connected using a digital cable to the 601 receiver you won't get any sound through zone 2.Zone 2 can process only analogue sound ( inputs ).

My satellite receiver cant find free channels

do a download on the reciever, pull the power leed out from the back, put your finger on the backup button on the box and put the power leed back in but always keep your finger on the backup button sometimes a bit tricky, leave your finger on the button for about 20 seconds till you see 4 lights light up on the front of the box or untill it says on the screen updating system software, take your finger of the button and leave the box for 10 mins.the lights will off then after that then give it another min to reboot its self then try it again.hope that works for you

Hi. I am picking up a buzzing sound. I have had this receiver for years with no problems. Any clue?

Most likely a ground loop. Troubleshooting is difficult.
Completely disconnect devices one at a time starting with the satellite or cable box. Listen for when the hum disappears. If you have recently installed a source (cable box etc) start with that. Have you recently installed any light dimmers? Cheap dimmers can also cause ground loops.
If it is in the cable or sat box you should try to get the incoming line grounded at the demark.
Or try this:

No sound from optical or coax digital inputs

You have to use the system setting using the remote and turn on the inputs you want to use. Hope this helps.
