the proper procedure to unplug the pen drive is

I have tried downloading 2 drivers for Quantum PC Camera QHM 500 LM but nothing is working can i get any software where it automatically detects the drivers and download it ?

Hi! Here's some hint. I presume you are using Windows 7 or higher operating system version. Make sure you are connected to the internet. Detached the pc camera, remove completely the old drivers at Control panel, device manager, camera, so on... Before removing however, please take note if the drivers for the pc camera marked Warning (usually yellow or read exclamation). Now, insert the pc camera again until it is detected when ask to insert cd/dvd driver select online search driver instead let the online intervention do the crawl. Else download the specific driver that matches your pc camera. Take note when installing drivers do not attached the device yet until you are told to do so or when it is finished installing. Try plugging it to other usb ports available. An updated operating system may also solve driver issues. Try also installing the pc camera on other pc-unit with different operating system.

I stepped on my Iomega external memory and went to PC world for data recovery, they can't do it?could you help?

take the drive out of the case and try this cable:

If the internal drive is physically damaged (if it wont power on or spin) then you will need to use a data recovery service that can pull the drive apart and recover the data directly from the platters. Note: These services are expensive.

Beeping external harddrive

It probably got damaged by the fall. One thing that might sound crazy but i've seen it work a few times, put the drive in the freezer for a few hours and plug it back in. Pull your important data off if it does come up though, because it will not last.

If it still doesnt work, its possible the controller to the drive is damaged, since its external.. the drive might be ok, but theres no way for me to tell from this end. If its the controller, the drive can be removed from the enclosure (will void your warranty) and plugged in on an different interface to remove the files.

If the drive itself is damaged, the way they recover the files is to remove the platters and install them into another drive of the same model and pull the data off. This route is extremely expensive, $1000+. If the files are not extremely important, you'd be better off sending the drive back to the manufacturer and getting it replaced under warranty if it still has one.

How do I remove hard drive from HP Pavilion a730n? Someone told me I need to know the set up and googles around for how to's. No luck.

Hi,

Here are simple steps that you can do to replace the hard drive.

Note: Before doing this make sure that the computer is unplug to the power source and the power cable is not attached to the computer

First open the side panel by unscrewing the 2 thum screw on the right side, then slide it to the back.
lay the pc on the side
make sure that you remember each cable that you are removing
remove the power and data cable of the hard drive
push the release tab while doing so slide the hard drive downward .

If you want visuals and step by step instruction click on the link.

I hope this will help you resolve your issue.

Thank you for using fixya

I am using 8GB knigston pen drive from last 6 month but right now it was not working shows USB USB device nor recoganised when plugled in PC

HI sanyalsm2006

use pen drive to another computer first
(make sure the computer works fine 100%)

problems occur due to three things you
1> operating system problem
2> usb port on your computer problems
3> pendrive is no virus or damaged.

do check them one by one, you must determine the cause of the problem.

My Western Digital 500GB EDD has been making Clicking noise

Here are some options to try: - Purchase an alternate enclosure for your hard disk enclosure in case the circuit board in the WD case has gone bad. - Try accessing the drive via MS DOS window and use CHKDSK command to repair the drive (if you can get it to be recognized). - Try connecting the drive to an alternate PC or even a Mac to see if the drive can be recognized (perform disk repair if recognized).

Yes, that correct you can just need to take the hard drive from your desktop and get a external hard drive ecnlosure where you need to put the hard drive and connect it to your laptop via USB cable, check this link for the sampole of the hard drive enclosure that you need to buy http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=2777&name=Hard-Drive-Enclosure

Device not recognized on any pc

My 4Gb Cruzer stopped being recognized on any computer last night. I put it in and it flashes once and never mounts. I called SanDisk tech support and they recommended calling LC Technologies to retrieve data.
I put a call into LC Tech and spoke with Ray, who was very friendly and all to familiar with this problem with the Cruzer. From what he told me the USB ports are highly unregulated at 5v and most likely the circuit board in the flash drive that allows for reading the data was damaged. He said the only option at this point was to send them the drive and they would pull the memory chip to try and recover any data. The bad news is that it comes with a $125 charge if they are successful on devices over 1Gb. He stated they had about a 80% recovery rate.

Why disconnect the cruzer. Just close out of the cruzer and pull it out of the port. Is that what you are doing?
