Obtain a new mainboard. This will fix the issue. The panel itself has nothing to do with the screen freezing. This is related to the mainboard (AKA tunerboard) component.

go get you some freeze from electronic store. remove back and let tv run till the problem happen. spray chips until problem stops and replace board with the chip you cooled. do it several times to be sure.

The main board for this unit seems to be defective. The part number for this model is: 3320-0032-0150. Encompass has it new for $180.00+shipping. It will be a good idea to veryfy that this is the right part number, cause I have seen vizios with the same model number to have diferent main boards. Good luck.
Control board / controller board is the board that connects VIA ribbon cables usually at the top. A used one should be cheap 50 -75 ad is fairly easy to replace. Make a new post with the make and model of your tv and you will more detailed info.
Your format is wrong. Make sure that your tv is in full mode and your direct tv is in 1080i stretch mode. This should correct the problem. Also, WB is having problems. This is common on their channel. If it is happening on any other channel, try the above. Hope this helps. JOHN
