try opening the back cover of the phone. Look for the spring connectors of the antenna and its contact pads. Clean the contact pads and antenna connectors.

SOURCE: ringtones

you have to format the memory card first to the phone.. easiest way to do this is to take a picture from the phone and transfter it to the card...

at this point the card will now have folders associated with the phone on it..

if you put your sd card into your computer and see any files that are not in a "my_pix, my_flix, my_ringtones etc" folder, drag them to the appropriate folder and you will be able to access them through the phone

so if you wanted to do ringtones drag the music into the ringtones folder. if you wanted music drag it to the music folder

I want to flash a metropcs phone to cricket

Flash or Flashing--Technically, flashing refers to the overwriting or re-writing of the phone's firmware. There are many phones which can be flashed to cricket with all features working. On most CDMA phones, programming the phone can be done "over the air" by dialing a special code, usually *228 or some variation. Colloquially speaking, flashing can also loosely mean making a phone from one carrier work on another carrier. The easy way to tell the difference is that if your phone does NOT take a SIM card, then it is probably CDMA.

To flash a phone to cricket you will be overwriting th phones firmware. The firmware is software in the phone that doesn't change when you turn it off, and it cannot be deleted unless it is overwritten, hence flashed. It requires specific files called prl files.PRL or PRL File--Short for Preferred Roaming List--A small text file containing instructions for how a phone connects to a specific network's radio towers It is usually loaded by connecting the phone to a computer to overwrite its data. There are a few tools used such as a pst PST--Short for Phone Service Tool or Tools--Special software used by phone manufacturers to program their phones. And also a monster file - -"Monster File"/"Monster Pack", ROM, or "Kitchen"--System software that is needed to flash a phone.

In almost all case you will need to access the phones service programming menu- - -Service Programming Menu--A special menu typically hidden from the primary User Interface that allows for "deep programming" of a phone. You will also need access to msl and spc codes specific to the device you are flashing.MSL/SPC--Special six-digit codes needed to access service programming features on the phone. Access to the service programming menu can be disabled in a phone's firmware.

Depending on your phone, it may require extra steps to unlock or get WAP and MMS working. That is why you need the msl/spc codes to allow deep programming to unlock these features. Not all phones will be capable to access wap or send and receive mms.

Ringtones generally have to be prepaid using a flex bucket. It is best to download ringtones before you flash your phone to cricket since they have a limited selection of ringtones and wallpapers. There are cases were flashed phones will not be able to download ringtones directly from cricket.

The details outlined above will not only work with cricket but you can also flash phones to metro pcs using the information provided above. It is best to do all your research before purchasing your phone to ensure that the cell phone you are interested in can be flashed to cricket or metro PCs

Switching back to verizon from metro with same phone

all you need is lg downloader or lgnpst software you can google those and a verizon prl. and once you have either of those softwares and the drivers for your phone is installed u can get that from here:http://www.humpa.com/vzw/. and a usb cable for your phone to connect it to your computer and where it says prl/eri u can load the verizon prl and write it to your phone. you will find it in the link i have given. dont look under the part for lg voyager but instead look under the section for LG-VX8500 Chocolate PRL - PRL.
  • LG-VX8500 Chocolate ERI - ERI.bin zip - You should only need this if you screwed up! hopefully this helps. good luck

HTC Mogul- flashed for Cricket- freezes up in contacts / Sluggish

Hi....dont know if you have gotten any answers on this but I might be able to help....first of all lets start with the EVDO.....

    1) Get into your EPST (dialer with smart dialing DISabled)....##778
    2) Click on view (for now)
    3) clickon view info
    4) goto PRL
    5) Check your PRL....1050 will not do it for you...if it is still 1050, there is your evdo problem (along with probably some other settings)...the PRL for Denver EVDO and roaming is like 38899 or something likethat....you can also find the PRL on HOFO i believe
    6) exit out of EPST to the dialer....
    7) hit *228 (still with smart dialing DISabled) and let it program
    8) that should update you to a EVDO PRL

Check out http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=61034 for an excellent walk through......checking your own PRL will let you know if something is off kilter...

BACK UP YOUR DATA! via either active sync or using PIM manager....

as for your lagging etc.......have you ever cleared the memory? In another forum it is recommended, every few months, to do a hard re-set or using the clear memory function (will install customizations so pay attention! contact whoever flashed itfor you and ask if the customizations should be allowed to run or not....i let the customizations run (not expecting that to happen) and now i cant re-map my contacts and messaging soft keys no big dealto me, but a bit annoying!)) I am guessing that it is full and fragmented and has all sorts of bits and pieces from previous installs and uninstalls etc....

Lg scoop phone AX260 need help transfering mp3 from computer to ringtones

There actually IS a way to use your own MP3s as ringtones. You will need Web Access from Alltel, which costs $1.99 per day or $5.99 for a month. I put up a step-by-step guide to successfully using MP3s as ringtones on my blog: http://blog.edirectories.info/2008/09/add-mp3-ringtones-scoop-ax260/
