I have internet explorer why my fb account was not opening

I suggest you use two different browsers. For example use two of Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Firefox under Windows; or Safari and Firefox under Mac OS X.

Use one browser to open your own FB account, and a different browser to open your wife's FB account. Once you have entered your username and password in each browser for the respective FB account, and don't delete cookies, each browser will remember your respective account.

To easily access FB when you open your browser, add the FB site to your Favorites or Bookmarks bar.

In Internet Explorer - go to the "Tools" menu and choose "Internet Options". Click on the "Advanced" tab, and then click on "Reset".
Restart internet Explorer and you should now be able to go to Facebook.

update your internet explorer or use Mozilla firefox / Opera to operate Facebook as FB have many new features which require Java and Flash player plateform which is defficult to load in old version of internet explorer.second if your r using a slow network for internet this may also help you.

First, you can access Facebook Account Login Page by directly typing www.facebook.com in to address bar of firefox.
The page should load easily. If not, I suspect slow internet connection. Make sure that other sites are opening properly. Also, try Internet Explorer or any other Internet browser (for the time being). Check if you can login to your account from some other PC.
I think that you ID is intact as you are experiencing problems before logging into your account. (In case the ID is stolen, facebook would not accept the password)

I suggested that as a security measure, you may change your password when you get access to your account.

What is your Internet Browser? I would assume it's internet explorer and someone might have installed an Add-on/plug-in on your browser without your knowledge, maybe through clicks or maybe during a visit to a malicious content website.

Try login through another Browser, like Firefox (click here to download ) or Google Chrome (click here to download), and see what exactly is happening. If the problem persists with the other browsers, then your system is badly infected, but if there's no problem with the other browsers, then you can try disabling the add-ons and tool bars on internet browser.
Open internet explorer, click "Tools" then click "Manage Add-ons" and disable all the toolbars and extensions. Or if you can see something that you didn't know what exactly, pick up the one you suspect and disable it. Restart internet explorer and check.

On the right top click on Account and then click on Logout. Now you can login with your Username and Password. If you still have problem try with a different browser like Internet explorer, firefox,safari or google chrome

open internet explore up and click on tool then goto internet options
then click on ther advance tab go down to the reset button and click reset internet explorer to defaults.
then close internet explorer then reopen internet explorer and see what happens alot of times if you install a toolbar it will mess with the settings and cause issues.

Try to clear the cookies and internet temporary files. Here are the step by step instructions Open Internet Explorer. Click "Tools". Click "Internet options". Click "Delete cookies" and press Ok. Click "Delete Files" and press Ok.
Restart the browser and check, if problem persists I would recommend you to try other browsers like Mozilla Firefox or Google chrome.

Reconnect your internet and try in 10 minutes.
