Hello!

are you trying to access the router setup?
are you trying to configure the router?

i have read the same problem on the supportrix forum and you may try this simple steps and see if this help solve your problem. make sure your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router and repeat the same steps.

note:

configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username (email address format) and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Under the router you should see an IP address type this into your browser. It should come up with a username and password option. Use admin for username and password for password all small letters this should take you into the router config screen.

How can I change the password on my extender so that it is different from my router

Ok first you need to go into your computer and find out what your IP address is.
If you are in windows Press start, then RUN then type in CMD and hit enter.
A black window (dos prompt) opens up.
Type in ipconfig then press enter.
A bunch of garbage that you may not recognize will come up. Look for something that says GATEWAY. Whatever the gateway address is (usually is 192.168.0.1, or 192.168.1.1) But each persons can be different.
So go into your browser once you have found that gateway address and type in: http://192.168.1.1 (or whatever your address is)

It should ask you for a login, normally if you haven't changed it, the username will be 'admin' and the password is blank or is also 'admin'

They keep saying i am keying in the wrong wireless password. Is this the router password or am i suppose to find another one. please help

My Linksys wireless router uses a different password to setup a wireless connection with the SSID (wireless account name) than the password for logging into the router for administrative purposes.

So I suspect you need a different password. However, without knowing which make/model of router you have, I can't help you identify where to find the information for your wireless setup.

Please add a comment with your router information for additional assistance.

I hope this helps.

Cannot view local webserver

go to http://www.whatismyip.com/ and then have them type in that ip address. if you have had them typing in your internal ip address that will not work. Try the ip that that website tells you is yours. Also do you have it forward port 80 to your computer? also you should set up DHCP reservations for the server. Hope that that helped.
