Dishwasher runs for 3 hours

I understand that your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# FDB700BFC, is running too long. I also see that it seems to be getting stuck on one particular cycle and runs continuously for hours even though the water is hot. It sounds like there is possibly a miscommunication between the different boards inside your appliance. I please ask that you try resetting your dishwasher, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 20-30 minutes. Once power is restored, try running any cycle. 3 hours isn't "extremely" long. If you run a normal cycle, it should run about 2-2:30 hours normally with the drying cycle. Now if it's over 3 hours, that would be a problem. Make sure that when you open the door that there is a lot of steam coming out, because that is the only thing that can extend the cycle is if the dishwasher isn't heating the water. Unfortunately this is a very common issue and it means that your control board inside the door has failed. There is a relay on the board that shorts out. This relay sends power to the heater, so when it fails the dishwasher doesn't wash well and it will run forever trying to heat the water which will never happen.

No, the problem in not the unit, it is programed to run up to 3-3 1/2 hours for a single cycle. You can select quick wash to shorten this time down, but this is not a problem with the unit. It wants to assure you have clean dishes and hot enough water to complete the program.
In testing one a few days ago, I ran into this same problem, I reread the time charts and cycles and found this to be normal for this manufacture.

You don't have enough hot water coming into the didhwasher. The element is coming on to heat the water. Are you using the sanitizing cycle? Vitally

common failures on that usually are the heating element. Look at the botton and see if it is broken anywhere.

on the ECO 50 cycle dish washer will not stop. have had to switch it off, when try to restart it automatically goes back to the ECO 50 programme. Can you please help. The Serial No. is ADP 2440 WH.

hey you..I have a whirlpool dishwasher too that would not
stop the wash cycle...it would run for 2-3 hours,
and then run thru the whole wash cycle again!

so..I had a whirlpool factory trained repair man come to
the home. He ran a diagnostic and it was 100% good,
so he called Whirlpool headquarters spoke to them;

said...........every 250 hours the dishwasher will
RE-CALIBRATE itself! running for 4-4 1/2 hours
straight, in order to re-calibrate itself. I was
interupting this by opening the door before it had
run the full 4 -41/2 hours of it's self-maintenance program.

Perhaps that your dishwasher is doing too?
p.s. always make sure you get a repairman that
is factory trained in your specific brand, otherwise
you'll waste $$$ money with a repairman who doesn't
have access to the corporate tech's and direct access
to their parts/inventory.

mine is the whisper quiet with computer control on front
of the door.

Intrrnal leak into base of appliance will make drain pump run constantly.
If appliance fills then dumps water with drain punp then keeps filling/draining sequence then the flow meter could de faulty.
Call in engineer.
