Assembly diagram for the Eureka 2591A

Am having problem with water and cleaning solution dispersal, so naturally the first thought is to tear it down and search out the problem. Figure either clogged line, filter, or bad pump motor. Well, after discovering all the hidden screws, and pulling off one little piece to get to the next, am finally at an impasse.

There is what I would assume is a valve assembly in the center "riser" section of the cleaner; viewed from the bottom, there are three hose bibs which connect to the small pump underneath, the main motor/pump, and with a hose out to the front of the unit [spray head ?]. Believe the top has connections to the remote sprayer/suction unit. Can't recall if that worked, but believe it did, which is why I suspect this assembly.

My problem is figuring how to get to this unit. Can't figure how to separate the top green cover from the bottom gray pan. Have run out of any noticeable fasteners, but would hate to think the sections are glued together. Aside from dynamite or a Sawsall - believe me, I've thought about it - this is the third time I've broken into the beast - any ideas as to what's holding everything together ? An assembly diagram would be great. But even a "Hey you idiot, there's a little rubber band over there..." would help.

Thnx in advance. Bruce L, ULCElectronics@earthlink.net

Why isn't it extracting cleaning solution?

check for the tank being too full or full of froth and suds
there should be a ball valve that floats up to stop the water getting into the motor
if this happens the suction is stopped or considerably reduced
if you have not put de-frothing agent in the receiver then it is a possibility that that is your problem

Wheres the release button for the recovery tank located on model # 2591

There isn't one. Just pull the handle straight up. When you reinstall it be sure to push it in firmly. Mine gives a click. Otherwise water runs out the side.

No suction or spray - Eureka Atlantis Steam Cleaner

I got the machine working. I think because it hadn't been used for awhile that the seals were dried out. I wet them and let it sit for awhile and then I could push the containers all the way in and seated them properly. Then it started working no problem and I got to clean my carpets.

if it drips out while the tank is off the machine it couldbe the spring load mechanism in the cap. try soaking it in hot water for a few minutes to swell the rubber then with a pen push the spring plate up and down to lubricate the rubber. then try and see if that works. usually they are gravity fed systems but only works when the tank is in the unit.

Hard to say without seeing it, is there a function type knob that you would switch from carpet to hose? Did the hose attachment lid close ok? Other then take, if this is new, it has a years warranty on it, just take it to a waranty shop for repair.

Smells hot

Sounds like you may have a bad motor. It is probably trying to work, that is why the suction is low and it gets warm. It will have to be replaced.
