Never heard of a code V1000. Actually, never heard of ANY code that begins with a "V"......What are you checking codes with? What module are you scanning?
i pulled the codes up on the dash and that was one that showed up. not too sure if it was a v or a u.
U-codes are allways comunications faults. U1000 is a generic comunications code that is usually only stored in the Powertrain Control module to let you know that there was a communications fault with one of the other modules in the onboard network. You must scan ALL of the other modules to see which one is having the problem. In many cases, this was caused by an intermittent fault. In this case, each module will also report the U1000 code. You will most likely find that one or more of the modules will have another U-code that will point the finger directly at the module that had the problem and the module that had the problem may not report any fault at all. (They usually do not tell on themselves)
For example: The code description of U1000 is "Loss Of Module Communications" While on of the other modules, when scanned may report U1065 which has a code description of "Loss Of Communications With IPM" So in this case, the IPM (Instrument Panel Module) would be the module that is having the problem communicating. The IPM may also report a U1000 or may not have any code at all, or will fail to communicate with the scan tool. It will NEVER tell on itself and report the code U1065. It is easier to pinpoint the problem if it fails to communicate with the scan tool, but if it is communicating with the scan tool, it has an intermittent problem that may be very difficult to diagnose.

Are you shure it said AMP1000 not ABS 1000 this code is for the anti-lock brake system is a self ck code to say that everything is working correctly
are you sure the amp said V not ABS sorry fat fingure today
im not really sure if it said v but it was 1000. i checked the codes on the dash and thats one that came up. is there a possibility it was a u? i might have to go outside and check again
most 1000 even codes for GM are self ck codes wether in the ECM ,PCM ,ABS,SRS as long as all your warning lights have gone out after 10 to 15 seconds after you start the car all is good and you only have history codes that have not been cleaded from the system
