Clamp is broken. Owners manual on line doesn't show thw same clamp. The one I have has a lever that opens loosens and tightens a collar. It is not a twist type as shown.

I have the same problem but mine is the one that just tightens by turning it tighter. I did not see a diagram of the one you are talking about, but they did not have a parts list. I am going to try a metal pipe clamp.

Without the model number, I can't provide you with the part. However, you can go to masterparts.net and click on the Remington chain saw link and with your model number, get a line drawing and list of all available repair parts and pricing.

They have almost all the parts for even most discontinued Remington chain and pole saws and have a toll free number you can call, once you have your model number to provide them with. 1-866-672-6040
Hope this helps and best regards!

I need coupling collar for my remington pole saw

I experienced the same problem with mine. The collar ring split making the pole saw useless. I am one of those who can basically fix anything you can put into my hands......
I have the solution for you! Loosen the collar ring and ensure the matching edges (where it is split) are clean & dry.....(no oil or residue).
Use JB-Weld (available in most department stores, hardware stores and auto suuplies) to repair the collar ring. Use the standard type epoxy (not the fast drying type). You will also need one other item to keep the ring from splitting again. The collar ring has a 2-inch diameter. Go to a hardware store or an auto supply store and ask for a 2-1/2 inch stainless worm clamp. Be sure to get the wider type that is about one-half inch across the stainless band. The clamp is typically used to connect radiator hoses on automotive engines. Make sure the clamp you get is stainless. Unscrew the clamp using safety in mind.....they typically have a large "straight slot" screw; using a screwdriver is a bit dangerous especially if you have to tighten it very tight. If you have access to a nut driver or a small quality socket set, these tools will enable you to tighten the worm clamp very tight. Do not force the collar ring back into service for a few days to ensure that the epoxy has had plenty of time to cure. I repaired mine a few years ago and it still works great!
Please send me a reply once the surgery and recovery is complete.
The total cost for materials is about $9-$10.
I hope this fixes your collar ring for good!

How do I put the saw on the pole

1. Remove battery from chain saw.

2. Separate main handle from chain saw

power head by pressing both release

buttons on main handle and pulling

apart. The release buttons are just in

front of the trigger.

3. Align rib on chain saw power head with

groove in power head adapter on pole.

4. Slide power head into power head

adapter until units "snap" together.

IMPORTANT: Both release

buttons on power head adapter must be

fully engaged.

5. Align rib on handle adapter on pole

with groove in main handle.

6. Slide main handle into handle adapter

until units "snap" together.

IMPORTANT: Both release buttons

on main handle must be fully

engaged.

7. Slide battery onto main handle until

release buttons "snap" together.

Be sure the battery is charged.

To extend the pole:

1. Loosen the clamping

lever. Pole will slide

freely.

2. Pull inner pole section out to desired

length of extension.

3. To lock pole in position, tighten clamping

lever.

The plastic Pole Lock (Thumb Latch)on my Remington electric pole saw is broken. Where can I find a replacement?

RemingtonPower is no longer in production, The "Coupling Nut" was replaced by a "Thumb Latch" neither of these nor the entire pole assembly are available.
You might try this (no promises).

Someone recommended using a hose clamp in place of the nut.
I think these are band-aids and eventually you will need a part that cannot be found.
We rarely get inquiries for McCulloch or Poulan electric units. Might be worth a look.

If you care to try on your own start here:
Remington.com
http://shoppingcart.msservicecompany.com/Default.aspx

  • Type "YourModelNumber" into the "Search for your unit by Model:" window, then click search.
  • Click the “YourModelNumber” - Remington Electric Chain Saw "View Model" link.
  • Click “View Owners Manual” or "View Illustrated Parts Diagram" link.
  • Type "YourPartNumber" into the “Search for your parts by Part #:” window, then click search.

Sometimes you can find NLA parts (use part number for above) offered here:
Master Distributors

I have the model 108526-01 Remington pole saw which has the round pole with a plastic compression nut (which recently broke). Can I buy the newer octagonal pole and if so, does it use the same saw mounting...

I have the sollution, had the same problem with the broken compression nut. Just use two hose clamps, one to hold the pole extended and the other clamps around compression base. Its a cheap easy fix and it work great fo me. The Real Mr.Fixit
