The drivers for your Canon CanoScan 4200F Flatbed Scanner available are for Windows 7 64bit, Windows Vista 64bit, Windows ME and Windows 98. Is your Windows Vista a 64bit version? You might want to upgrade your Windows Vista from 32bit to 64bit. Always remember, the softwares and drivers are limited to manufacturer's releases.

You can download the Canon drivers from their support WEB site. Please click on this link and select your model scanner to download :-

search in google for free software download genius scanner vivid u ma find it twain drivers

use the installer of the canon drivers,disconnect the scanner and reinstall drivers from the canon website,cose win and restart

maybe the software that you download is a 32 bit O.S only that's way it cos you and error. because your O.S
is not compatible to the software that you use. download a 64 bit driver twain

Give a little more detail of your problem. Have you installed ScanGear and Toolbox?
What OS are you using?
What errors, if any, do you get?

uninstall all drivers and software that cam with the scanner, and then try installing the software again before connection the scanner... this is a problem when there are two different twain drivers, look for C:\Windows\twain_32\CNQ4803(2) see if there is a driver in there.
