Question about Epson Stylus Photo 950 InkJet Printer

Replacing cartridges I wish to remove my non-epson cartridges and replace them with epson ones. They are not finished. How do I do this please?

    Thanks. Am not at home at the moment so will examine the printer closely when I return.

    I note what you say about non-epson cartridges but I am getting terrible colours especially redish face hues.

    Never had theses problems with epson cartridges.

    Have tried nozzle cleaning but perhaps soemthing else is wrong

I believe if you just open the cover to get at the ink, and press the ink button - possibly several times, depending on your printer - the ink carrier should move to where you can remove the cartridge.  Then, you switch the cartridges.  And restart the printer.

I am not sure if this will work (it depends on your printer) and the way to check if it works is by checking the ink levels.  If they read the same as before you made the switch, it did not work and you need to use your printer's control panel to make the switch.  There should be a button under one of the tabs which reads "Change cartridges before empty" or some such language. That will give you step-by-step instructions.

Personally, I have seen no difference between the Epson and generic brand cartridges, so if I were you, I would run the non-epson cartridges dry in normal use and exchange them as you go along.

see the section on troubleshooting - ink light continuously on n the second page. It instructs you to reseat the cartridges/check if they inserted fully and correctly. If the printer still does not work after doing this, remove the cartridges and re-insert them (on my printer there is procedure for replacing a partially used cartridge). Are your cartridges genuine Epson and within use by date ? Some printers can detect these things and fail to function. Although compatible non-OEM (ie non Epson) are usually ok sometimes they are not.

How do I remove the black ink cartridge to put in a new one?

1 Remove and Install Cartridges Be sure you have your replacement cartridges handy before you begin. You must install new cartridges immediately after removing the old ones. Caution:
Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to install the ink. Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability. 1. Turn on the Epson Stylus CX8400 Series. If a cartridge is low or expended, you see a message on the Epson Stylus CX8400 Series LCD display screen. If a cartridge is expended, you must replace it to be able to print. If a cartridge is low, you can continue printing until the cartridge needs replacement. If you're replacing a cartridge before you see a message on the Epson Stylus CX8400 Series LCD display screen, press Setup, select Maintenance, and press OK. Then select Change Ink Cartridge and press OK. 2. Open the scanner. 3. Open the cartridge cover. 4. Squeeze the tab on the cartridge and lift the cartridge straight up to remove it. Dispose of it carefully. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it. Warning:
If ink gets on your hands, wash them thoroughly with soap and water. If ink gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with water. Keep ink cartridges out of the reach of children. 5. Before opening the new cartridge package, shake it four or five times. (Do not shake a cartridge after opening the package; ink may leak.) 6. Remove the cartridge from the package, but be careful not to touch the green chip on the cartridge. 7. Remove the yellow tape from the bottom of the cartridge. Caution:
Do not remove any other labels or seals, or ink will leak. 8. Insert the new cartridge into the holder and push it down until it clicks into place. 9. Once you replace all the necessary cartridges, close the cartridge cover and push it down until it clicks into place. 10. Close the scanner. 11. Press OK to begin charging the ink. This takes about 2 minutes. When you see a completion message on the LCD display screen, ink charging is finished. Caution:
Never turn off the Epson Stylus CX8400 Series while ink is charging or you'll waste ink.
If you see an ink replacement message on the LCD display screen, press OK and press down all the cartridges securely.

Epson stylus tx110 not function and their are leakage ink inside......

If you are using non-Epson nink cartridges you may need to get a replacement set of cartridges. Secondly, the ink sponge could be full. You can try a soft cloth to remove the excessive ink. Also, take a look here for the Epson utility to correct your error. Please leave positive feedback .

Black ink not printing


I suggest you replace the blank ink cartridge because it is possible the ink inside is finished.

Better still, if you can remove the black ink cartridge and check if the ink is still ok to print and you can equally try the black ink on a similar printer to see if it will print.

If it did not,then replace with a better one.

I was using the printer and it was working fine and then I printed another sheet and the printer wouldn't just print, I had to press start and then it appeared to be printing, but the paper came out blank.

Hi, think the ink in the cartridge is finished, remove the cartridge to see if there is still ink in the cartridge, if non, please replace it with a new cartridge.

What model printer do you have and can you list the print cartridge?
Also have you selected on the onboard printer menu that you have inserted a new cartridge?

Replace cartridge message with CIS that has been working fine.

Same problem with my R200. In reading solutions across net, said to use genuine Epson yellow and after finished, save chip from it to use on other non-genuine yellow. As soon as I put the genuine Epson yellow in, the problem went away.

Cannot recognize ink cartridges

If you are using non genuine Epson carts, then you need to change the carts to genuine ones (full set I'm affraid)

Once you have replaced the carts you should find the error goes away. The problem arises somehow from non genuine carts when one (or more) is inserted that has not been "reset" properly by the refiller. This causes a cascading error through the ink monitoring system and ends up with all your inks going empty one after the other. I've seen this on several models of Epson printer.

The alternative is that the printer has fault on the main board. try the carts first it's the cheapest option. If the nmachine is in warranty, get Epson out to it.

Epson Stylus photo 2100

Highly possible that the "compatable" cartridges are not really compatable or that Epson has updated software or firmware to keep them from working. Try replacing with Epson cartridges or see if the non-OEM brand seller has a resetting device so the printer sees those cartridges as full.
