AS YOU ON THE SYSTEM AND EVEN BEFORE WINDOWS STARTS KEEP PRESSING THE F8 KEY CONTINUEOUSLY. A MENU WILL APPEAR. SELECT SAFE MODE AND ENTER. WINDOWS WILL LOAD IN SAFE MODE. THIS WILL SOLVE SOME OF YOUR PROBLEMS. NOW RESTART THE SYSTEM IN NORMAL MODE.

IF THIS DOES NOT WORK SELECT "LOAD WINDOWS WITH LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION " AND THEN RESTART. THIS WILL SURELY SORT OUT YOUR PROBLEM.

How can i restart my compaq presario sr5605f desktop after it lost power during a restart repair cycle?

You may need to reload. Be sure to back up your data first. If the machine won't boot, and you have important files on it, you could purchase a USB Hard Drive Adaptor, pull out the hard drive, and copy any important files to another machine. Good luck.

Oresario laptop starts but goes to black screen with cursor

Windows is not starting. Try to start in safe mode and if you can, do a system restore back to when it was working.
If you can't do this, then you'll need to insert the system disk and boot from it and choose the option to repair your computer.
I suspect that you have corrupt Windows files or a corrupt registry. Repairing it with the system disk should solve the problem. Either that, or you will have to do a reinstallation.

Networking will not work on windows vista

Under present circumstances you shall first try to boot through last good known configuration. If that is not working then you shall get a disk of operating system and boot through that particular CD and try the repair option if you need the full proceedure then kindly do let me know the operating system which you are using at present.

The one that i have the screen turn off black..

May be the driver was bad. Perform a Sytem Restore. Hit F8 once you see the bios screen. Go into Safe Mode. Open System Restore
Start->programs->accessories->system tools->system restore.
Choose a restore point before the update. Proceed and the system will be restored. If not write in your comments

Comoaq Laptop

Give this utility a try. It is meant for tweaking screen settings to the max. It takes a bit to get used to everything it can do, but it should give you all the flexibility to move the screen around to display perfectly to work around the damaged portion of your screen. http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/powerstrip.html
