"LD" flashes implies the drain hose is kinked or clogged. Check the line as well as the line it feeds into for a clog and make sure it is free to drain then if OK, Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display. Hope this helps...

Whirlpool Calypso error code

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error Ld means long drain and it flashes when the water level will not change even after the drain pump is on. To resolve this issue you’ll need to check the drain hose and the drain pump for any blockages. Also check if the pump is running fine and replace the part that has gone bad. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

My washer is indicating a "ld" problem. I have readjusted the load and restarted the machine but it continues to stop and the "ld" code keeps coming on. I have a very small load in the machine so I know...

Hello, the "Ld" error code indicates a long drain. It is displayed when water level does not change while the drain pump is running. You can check for the following problems:
  • Is the drain hose kinked or clogged?
  • Check the drain pump for clogs. Is it running?
  • Is the drain hose height greater than 96 inches?
  • Is the pressure switch hose connection from the tub to the machine control board pinched or plugged?
  • Do you see excessive suds in the basket? Are you using high efficiency (HE) detergent?
  • Thanks

How do I correct the Ld from flashing

"Ld" Is for long drain, its taking longer than 5 minutes for your machine to drain. There might be a clog in the drain line.

Won't fillCalypso whirlpool washer model#GVW9959KQ1 LD on display

LD is long drain error, the machine does not fill because it is in fault mode, but error is on drain system.

If there is a drain problem, the parts that must be checked are drain hose, pressure switch, drain pump assembly, timer control.

Check if the drain hose at the back is kinked or blocked.

Test the pressure switch, blow into the small hose, and use a multimeter to check if switch has continuity.

Remove access panel and get to the drain pump hose to check for ablockage. You will need to disconnect the hose and collect the water.

Keep a container ready to collect water when you undo pump hose.

Ifall the rest is OK, test and eventually replace timer board.Problemwith water pump are far more commonly causing this problemsthenfaulty timer board.

It is not running the full cycle and show LD on the minute screen

"Ld" flashes if it takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to a point where the operating pressure switch resets. I recommend to check the following areas below.

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley, or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

**The most common issue will be an obstructed hose or, line

NOTE-If the hoses and pump check out ok, this will confirm that there is a serious issue within the actual control sector(Timer module or control board). It should be replaced i this case.

LD flashing

Hi,

Hello,

"Ld" flashes if it takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to a point where the operating pressure switch resets.

Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

Usual causes are easy to check:
1. Unplug the washer and clean the pump strainer. It is located between the drum and the pump, and will be attached to the drum with a rubber hose.
2. Dump your drain hose into a bucket to remove any build-up in the drain hose. If possible, run an empty load, with the drain hose pointed outside.

Best regards, --W/D--

THE CODE LD IS SHOWING UP AND WASHER IS NOT OPERATING

Press stop, cancel twice to reset. The Ld error is when it takes longer than 5 minutes for the washer to drain and reset the sensor. You probably have a partially plugged strainer or drain line. To check the strainer, remove the kick panel at the front bottom of the machine. The strainer is ibetween the drum and the pump, being connected to the drum with a rubber hose. Open the strainer (caution, water!), and clean. If you did not find much in the strainer, clean the drain hose. Dump the contents of the drain hose into a bucket. If possible, run an empty losd with dth drain line pointed outside.
This should fix your issue!
Best regards, --W/D-- feel free to rate this solution...thanx!

Calypso washer - LD Code - clothes still wet

harborstuff,
The code on your machine stands for 'Long Drain'. Ld flashes if it takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to a point where the operating pressure switch resets. I would bet that the bath mats left a bunch of stuff stuck in the recirculation pump hose, or pump itself, and the water cannot be drained fast enough. Check the intake and exit hoses of the recirc pump. It's easiest to get to the pump through the front panel of the machine(click here). Looks like this: click here. Hope this helps.
(Definitely get under there and check to make sure the pump hoses are not clogged. At $129 it's an expensive fix for a $10 bath mat that clogged up the hose with fuzz. 'know what I'm sayin'' :o) )

BTW, I have the maintenance manual & have experience at replacing the recirc. pump, control board, motor board, touchpad, & lid switch so far.

Machine shows LD even when water pump was replaced

dccvan,
OK, now that you have a new pump, look at the back ouf the unit. You will have to take off the back cover. On the back of the tub you can see where the 'check balls' are for draining & recirculation. Here's a picture: click here. It might be a little difficult to see through the plastic, but check to see if there is anything stuck inside there near the check balls. If so, you have to take the pump hoses off at the tub connections. You can use mechanical finger grabbers to get stuff out. Check this picture also: click here. If you take the hoses off, check them for debris inside. Check your drain hose to the house drain also, could be something in that hose too. Flex shaft mechanical fingers look like this: click here. you can get them at just about any autoparts store.

Hope this helps,
