For whatever reason your printer is trying to do a firmware upgrade and it isn't working.
If this came out of the blue, you may have to replace the formatter.
RFU = remote firmware upgrade.
If you caused the problem while trying to upgrade the firmware, try it again
install printer Driver
change print port to "Virtual printer port for usb"
use usb line
down load the right firmware .rfu file
in CMD mode,type:
copy /b firmwarefilename.rfu \\pc name\printer name
it will be down
HP Jetdirect firmware images have an extension of *.dld while the printer firmware images have an .rfu extension.Once imported into the repository, the files physically exist under the following location on the HP Web Jetadmin server:
C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Local Settings\ApplicationData\Hewlett-Packard\HP Web Jetadmin\WjaService\config\FirmwareUpgrade
