The item is an external HDD, you can use to store files on it.
You can download drivers, manual etc from Maxtors supporter site bellow.

Youst select the model of your Maxtor, there are 4 diferent in that family. You can see on your item what model it is.

Download the drivers, install them, connect the item..and VIOLA, you will have 150GB external storage!

Check with Maxtor and see if this is covered under warranty. It should be.

Hi,
drives dead. Head crash problem.
The read head, has clattered the disk(s)
the only other option is to swap the logic boards over ( if they,re identical ) ** circuit boards on the drives**

If files you are trying to restore are encrypted you will have to use same software to retrieve them.. If not, any file in the external hard drive should be viewable with your windows explorer.

And U do not need drivers for external hard drives. They just plug into your usb port and work with modern OS after the unit is recognized.
