Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-40V2500 40 in. LCD HDTV

1 Answer

SONY BRAVIA -KDF-E50A12U- SENTANTA FREEVIEW TUNING PROBLEMS.

I have a Sony Bravia built in FREEVIEW model LCD rear project TV.

Having purchased a freeview box with free Sentanta card I later discover through the Sentanta homepage that some LCD TVs could use a IDTV CARD ADAPTOR OR CAM.On checking the back of the TV ,I discovered I could utilise one of these Cams so purchased one.
Whilst following the setting up proceedures I found out that my Sentanta channel (34) was displaying :- SELECTED PROGRAMME IS NOT TUNED IN.
Previously Sentanta was displayed with a homepage & some free programmes have been watched in the past.

Yesterday I did as instructed & carried out a digital retune. 89 channels were produced with good picture quality & every radio station via digital.
Even with the CAM & CARD are not in the slot the TV auto tunning successfully but still comes back with Sentanta (34) PROGRAMME IS NOT TUNED IN.
Early this evening I have retuned with the card & cam in the slot ,& without , but I am still getting the same results.
On trying the Freeview box into the TV via normal leads & scarts the TV displays Sentanta fine.I believe this prove that my outdoor ariel is satisfactory & working ok.
Today I was told to try Menu-Settings-Setup- CA MODULE SETUP.
This was carried out but the software downloads keep coming back as failing .
PLEASE has any one got the solution to my problem.
IE.Every channel is displayed & working but not the Setanta homepage you get on Freeview.

PS. Emley Moor can be seen from every direction!!

THANKS,

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

Just bought a Logik tv with integrated Freeview. I have sky+ and the TV plays from the Sky receiver but blocks all non freeview channels, for which I subscribe, how do I get the TV to play ALL the sky...

It sounds like you've just got the TV on the Freeview.

I presume your Sky+ is connected via a Scart Lead to an AUX Scart Input on the rear of the TV.

You need to change the TV from Freeview to the AUX Input, should be a button marked AUX.

If you can't figure out how to do it then please advise the Model of the TV and I'll try and talk you through it.

I have a freeview build into my tv which is Panasonic plasms tv Model no. TH-46PZ8BA and wish to know how I can receive HD channels BBC or ITV. Please advice and help.

HD Ready just means the tv can display HD images from an HD source.

The built-in Freeview box on your tv is not Freeview HD compatible so you'll either have to buy a separate external Freeview HD box or subscribe to an HD satellite or cable service.

In any case, most built in Freeview receivers are of barely adequate picture and reception quality. An external box is usually far better in both respects.

How do you connect bt vision to a sony bravia kdl 37v4000.I have it working ok on freeview only but the bt vision appears on analogue channel 6 and the vision remote changes the tele channel not the vision...

Sounds like you cant have set up the scart cables properly. Im unimpressed with BT for not setting it up for you, why didn't they?
Plus you will not need the freeview box if you have BT Vision, so i would take out the freeview box and just connect one end of the Scart lead into the back of the BT Vison box then put the other side of the lead to the Back of the TVs scart socket. Then all you need to do now if change the channel to AV1 OR AV2 or whatever channel you have.
