I can't connect to the internet in my house. I have WiFi, but my laptop keeps asking for my 8 digit PIN and I cannot find it. I've tried every number on the bottom of the router...not one of them is an 8 digit #? What do I do now?

It would have been a password set in the router menu which would be accessible by a IP address in your web browser. You would need to reset the router. This is done by holding in the reset button for 10 seconds. It will reset the browser back to factory defaults. Just keep in mind that if there was any configurations done to get the WI-FI to work with your laptop then they will have to be setup again.

8 digit pin

  1. Connect to the router with a network cable to one of the LAN ports
  2. Open the admin menu at 192.168.1.1
  3. Login with admin / 1234.
  4. Click on GENERAL SETUP -> WIRELESS -> SECURITY SETTINGS
  5. Set "Encryption" to WPA Pre-Shard key
  6. Set the WPA UNICAST to WPA2 (AES) or WPA2 (Mixed)
  7. Set the pre-shard key format to passphrase.
  8. In the field Pre-Shared Key type in the password for the wireless network. It should be at least 8 characters in length. Write down this password. You will need to enter the password when you connect with your WLAN clients to the network.
  9. Click APPLY and APPLY again to restart the router.
  10. Wait for about two minutes, then re-scan your WLAN networks on your Windows 7 system and connect just like before. Now you need to type in the password you set up under step 8.

Configure Home Network- 8 digit PIN?

There are two ways of finding it:
1st - Check the sticker or box of router. You can find it near the serial number or mac address written. It is mentioned as PIN Number.
2nd - Login in the router page with default password and you can find it on settings page.

Checksum validation failed for the PIN entered on Lenovo password for internet set up

OK, if you have a Password, why are you entering a PIN? They are two different ways of authenticating you as a valid user. You should not select the option to use a PIN. Use your Password or Network Key.

Am not able to connect to internet to pad to get wifi. there is wifi in the house. Need to to know what ssdi is and pin security.

If you are in a house with wifi, then you need to ask the person who owns the network what the ssid (the network name) and the password are.
When you look for connections, you will see available networks. The strongest one is probably the one you are trying to connect to. If the network is set up like it should be, you will need a password!

Every time I try to connect to the internet it my DS keeps 'No compatible access point in range. Check your connection settings and try again. For help visit suppoert.nintendo.com Error code:...

You can only connect to internet if someone is sharing their Wifi. If it is password protected, you won't have any luck. You're best off heading to Starbucks or McDonalds for free Wifi to connect to the internet.
