Question about Kenmore 63793 Convection / Microwave Oven
Due to running empty, the magnetron has overheated and the thermal cutout also called a (TCO or thermal fuse) or thermostat (if so equipped) on the magnetron has blown.
After 15 minutes of such stress, I would suspect the magnetron is gone, too, unless the thermostat / TCO stopped it in time.
Cross your fingers...
If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.
You can usually find exploded views and order parts by entering your full model number at the Sears parts site.
A full Sears/Kenmore model number usually has 3 digits, a dot, then 8 more digits, such as ###.########
There may also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.
