Question about Sony KP-51WS510 51" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I have a sony wide screen projection tv model # KP51WS520. After recently rearranging our living room; we moved the tv to the oppisite side of the room, the tv doeen't come on. Instead the standby LED just continueously blinks 9 times then pauses for about 3 seconds and then another 9 blinks. If you continue to try to get it to come on it eventually will turn on and everything works just fine. Somtimes it takes 5or more minutes of pressing the remote to get it to come on. My tv, which is the same model & also about 3 years old, is doing the same thing. The stand by light blinks 9 times. I punched in the code to get the tv in diagnostic mode and it came on and showed all zeros except #9 and it showed #104. If you could give me any help I would greatly appreciate it.
If I may add to Bestdarngood post that the 9 blinks means:
+/- 19V line is shorted
IC708 could be defective
PS701 or PS702 is opened.
To do this repair you will need to have basic electronics knowledge that includes hand soldering, use of a DVM and be very careful when working around high voltages.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

Try pushing the buttons on the remote and let me know what comes up on the screen if anything.
Display, Channel, 5, Vol Minus, ( Not plus ) then Power. This brings up
a screen with a list of the problems and number of times they have occurred.
Each of the problem names is abbreviated as, "OCP", "OVP", "V STOP", ETC.
We have repeated them in parentheses in the text for the "Blinks" described
above so you can correlate between the diagnostic screen and the blink
