When the Camera Is In Manual Mode, It will not Change Focus... I spin the wheel and nothing happens. Also i have just discovered in this mode, if i take a photo without the flash on, it will come out black, even with very good lighting, and when the flash is on, its still rather dark and its only the immediate area, (you can't see the background) What is going on???

I don't know about your camera, but when mine is in manual mode, it allows me to set the aperture and shutter speed but does not affect the autofocus. To make the focus manual, I have to move a switch next to the lens. When in manual mode, are you setting the aperture and shutter and what are you using to determine correct exposure?

My Nikon D3200 will not focus?

Let me start with a guess. There is a diopter adjuster just behind the viewfinder. If it is adjusted way off from the correction you need, everything will look no better than out of focus though your photos may look fine. Google how to adjust the diopter setting on the D3200 and see if that won't take care of the problem.

Here is one of the secrets: your camera has so many adjustments that if someone else picks up your camera, they may change a setting leaving you wondering what happened and why. Be cautious.

If that guess is not the cause, let us continue. Are you saying that when you switch the lens setting from A to M, it still will not manually focus? Some of the lenses are mostly made for autofocussing, so the focus ring that you have to turn for manual focus could be narrow and out at the very front of the lens. If you cannot manually focus, something may have happened to the inner works of your lens. Try another Nikon lens to see if it will autofocus. If it does, your lens requires servicing or replacing.

Good luck. Hope you get back to shooting soon.

Shutter button does nothing when pressed halfway, will not focus automatically. It doesn't make the beeping noise, no green box, nothing happens! I can press it all the way and take a picture, but t

Please check if yu did set the camera in AF mode continuous. In that mode, the camera is focusing on whatever is aimed at. Even when the shutter button is not pressed, allowing you to shoot without missing opportunities.
The mode where you see the camera focus when the button is pressed half way, is called single. This setting will conserve battery power.
Look in the manual under Switching between Focus Settings. I can't tell you war page that is for your camera, in mine it is page 100.
On the last pages in the book are all settings for each shooting mode.

1.check your lens camera is clean and clear.

You have to choices, auto and scene.
What happen when you choose scene mode?
2. test change your image quality to normal. you can go to menu even in shooting mode.
3.change image to normal and back to shooting mode and try again

It is same ?blur?

4.if still blur, try go to menu mode again, at left side you can find BSS.
5 IF BSS is off.. change it on. if it is on, change it off.
6.go to shooting mode again.

that all. good luck and rate me..tq

Hi Ref: Digital Camera - Pentax K200 model It keeps auto focusing when in manual mode. Regards Chris

Putting the camera in manual mode still doesn't change the focus routine. If you want manual focus, there is a switch near the lens on the left allowing AF (auto focus) and MF(manual focus).

Nikon d40 digital camera

When the camera is in auto focus mode, it will not take the picture until it locks onto a subject. If there is not enough light, the camera will "hunt" for something to focus on. Since it can't define any edges, it won't allow the shutter to release.

The D40 base model does NOT have a powered focus lever for autofocus, so if the autofocus is not working, suspect the lens.

Canon Rebel xti - auto focus problem

AI should be focusing. You really can't change many settings when you are shooting in auto mode. Is the lens in AF mode?

I'm sure you have long since returned from vacation!

Hope this helps!

Cannot change flash setting

Hello, i just fixed that problem yesterday.
You just have to enable Burst mode.
You click on Menu, then you go down once, to the REC Mode, and you take the first choice (normal).
