Good Day, richless;
I'm glad that you can solder. When soldering be careful as you know, as a profess solder, clean points with de flux or better acetone. May you have a great night, big IRISH.

Sounds like you have some solder problems on your deflection board. If you're up for it, you could fix that yourself with some solder and a soldering iron. Just take the back off, and look for the board with 2 of these on it (numbers may be different).

Remove the board carefully noting where you unpug things (take photos if needed). Then reflow the solder joints on these parts. I hope this was of assistance, best wishes.

Red convergence on my ws-55809 is off

The lense adjustment won't help. There are two convergience chips inside, each has 16 pins. If you take the big tray, with all the boards, out and turn it over, you will see that one of the chips has a pin that goes to a contact labeled, "RH." You can't miss the chips, they are stuck to a huge, finned heat sink, about 4'' x 7". Check the continuity from that pin to it's contact with an ohm meter. You may get lucky and get by with simply a re-solder or jump on that pin. Those convergience chips are like computer processors, are subject to extreme heat, depend very heavily on their heat sinks and cooling fins and could easily get hot enough to break a solder connection. Like computer processors, they should have been designed with fans as well as heat sinks. Don't kill yourself. Even unplugged, a tv has enough stored energy to be fatal.

Screen turning pink

If the pink overlay goes away gradually, you could have weak picture tubes (CRT's) If the color jumps in after warming up, it could be a bad solder connection. If you haven't had a good picture to watch for a long time, I would be tempted to put the money towards a new HDTV set as those older Mitsubishi Rear Projection TV's had a Lot of bad solder connections in the past, and by fixing one problem another could crop up in the near future.
