How do I get credit for my credit card that I just gave you for a live chat, was placed on hold for the next Expert. Lost connection and now cannot get in with out paying again. HELP!!!!!!

How to earn/get money on/from fixya

In order to earn money on FixYa, you must become a Premium Expert. For information on how to apply, please view this Tip.

Once you have been approved as a Premium Expert, you will notice some changes on your My Expertisepage. First, there will be a banner regarding your preferred method of payment. Click on this banner and select how you would like to be paid. There will also be a module on the upper right of your My Expertise page called My Live Chat Status, as well as a link to your Account Statements.

Answering Chats
If you would like to do a Live Chat, where you assist the customer using an IM system, check the "Available" option on your My Live Chat Status module. Then, as long as you are on FixYa, you will receive a pop up to alert you to any available Chats in your Areas of Expertise. Please make sure you have enough time to do a Chat (up to an hour or more) and that you only assist one customer at a time.

Answering Premium Questions
Premiums can be found at the top of your My Expertise page with buttons marked $3, $4, and $6. Please view this Tip to see more info about Premiums.

Keeping track of your earnings

If your Premium Solution or Live Chat Assistance is "Accepted" by the customer, you will be credited the amount on the button (for Premiums) or between $6-$10 (for Live Chats). You can keep track of all the Premiums/Live Chats you have done by clicking on "Account Statements" (also referred to as your Ledger). One note about that- if something older than 7 days is still marked as Pending, then it has Auto Closed and another Expert received credit.

Getting paid
At the end of each month, FixYa audits Experts' accounts. If you have earned $50 or more, your account begins processing. For more info about FixYa's payment policies and schedule, please view the Experts' FAQ section on payments.

I have two charges on my bill. What is a virtual charge

Your question is incomplete. Please add details using the Comment menu choice.

It sounds like your credit card bill, perhaps you paid "virtually", that is, not in person, and gave the credit card number and made authorization over the phone or using the internet, but without handing over your credit card in person.

Check with your bank or credit card company.

FIXYA did not bill you. It is a free service given by unpaid volunteers who live all over the world, using the internet.

Registered gift card and was billed $8.47 - 1/28/15 Why?

In your payment settings a valid credit card must be in place for your subscription to be charged to on a recurring basis; this was likely just an oversight with the gift card. Click on the help settings and go to chat and someone will clear this up and credit your account.

How do you open a chat with someone on fixya?

To get a chat on fixya, you need to click on one of the LIVE CHAT NOW banners on the right of this page for example, or then go to the front page of fixya (www.fixya.com) Write in your problem and check the checkbox for immediate assistance.

Then select the one time assistance.
click get assistance
Select Live chat, 19.99.

Fill in your credit card details etc.

Live chat will begin shortly after.

You can correspond with your Live Chat Expert by posting a comment to the Chat Thread, located inside the My Problems section of your My Profile page. Click on the question you posted to access your chat transcript, and leave comments. The Live Chat expert will be able to view these comments. Where can I view the transcript of my Live Chat session? Your chat transcript can be located inside the My Problems section of your My Profile page. Click on your question to access your chat transcript.

I had a washing machine problem. I fixed it myself. My problem now is that Fixya charged me 20.00 for a live chat that never happened. I waited for an hour for someone to come online and then I gave up....

If I was you I would refuse payment and have that removed from your card. Demand a refund and refuse to pay. You ain't been helped you ain't got no reason to pay. Hell they do not pay the techs either.
