On the Epson printer two flashing red lights mean that your printers waste ink tank is full and Epson has locked your printer you need to replace the waste ink pads and then reset your printer using the reset utilities
When you get the message service required it usually relates to a warning that your waste ink pads are nearly full and requires you to take the printer to an Epson service centre for repair
You need to have your waste ink pads replaced You may soon find that you will get two red alternating lights flashing this means your printer is locked and unuseable and after replacing the ink pads you will need to reset the printer using software need any more help email me on firstname.lastname@example.org
Two flashing lights means that you have a problem with your waste ink pads being full you normally get a warning first to say you need to have it serviced then your computer gets locked out
You need to replace your waste ink pads to do this you can either
take it to an epson service agent which will cost in the region of £50 or try doing it yourself when you have finished replecing your ink pads you need the printer resetting to do this you need a reset program you can find these free on the internet

It means that the ink counter needs resetting and the waste inkpad changing/cleaned. The Epson website will give you the address of a local service centre.
Before paying out for that you could see if the SSC Service Utility would work for you although the R265 is not specifically listed as supported it is similar to the R270 which is.

I have problem with r265 Epson. I installed new ink cartridge from epson but the printer could not recognize it. I installed SSC Service utilitry, but the programme could not recognize printer at this status. What can I do?
I have the r265 fix, it is not an ssc program, and it only works with microsoft windows, not vista or mac, if you want the program, you will need to join my free computer help site, and download it free.
