This seems to be a bug in Toshiba's recovery wizard. Try doing a system repair with the recovery or operating system disc without using the recovery wizard.

At this point, you may need to reformat the hard drive and install a new operating system. When downloading the drivers and utilities from Toshiba's support site, find and do not download Toshiba's recovery wizard. This will eliminate the bug problem with it in the future. From what I've read, there is no update, patch, or fix for this problem at this time.

Well I have seen this a few times before and ushally due to firmare upgrades to the unit. you might no be able to use the toshiba recovery cd but you might be able to use a windows disk to install onto the drive. then from there would have to downgrade the firmware of the dvd drive.

seems that is where the error is coming from not sure if its a faulty dvd drive or if its a error in the computer itself but doing this should resolve the issues.

Tosheiba laptop vista recovery disk won't load. I put image files on c drive try to start try to ruin tosimagex new errors

Hi! Welcome to www.fixya.com.
What you have to do is to change the boot sequence on boot option. Restart pc then hit f2 go to boot option and choose DVD/CD to be your first boot option then press f10 restart and it should load automatically. Check your recovery if its running on other pc. If not. call your manufacturer and get a new recovery disc.
Hope this resolution fix the problem on your computer. Thanks for contacting Fixya. Bye for now.

A215 s7422 no longer boots up. Thought it was bad HD so put in new one and loaded recovery dvd but still no boot up. Could it need a new cmos? please advise. Thanks

If you are not able to see any cmos activity when you are first booting up chances are that the Cmos chip or Motherboard has gone bad. You would need to send it to manufacturer for repair but if is an old computer chances are it would not be worth fixing.

Error : 10-FC12-0570 when i try to reinstall with the cds

Error 10-FC12-0570 on Toshiba satellite This error message means that the recovery utility was not able to read the data from the disc correctly, or wasn't able to write it to the hard drive.
The problem could be with the disc, the CD/DVD drive or the hard drive.

Solution:

Try copying the second disc using another system. If it's impossible: order for a new disc. If you can copy it, try using the copy to do the restore.

Try using a third party disk checker to verify the problem, is or is not, with the hard drive.

The best way would be to load the Windonws Vista discs, format the pc and reinstall.
(Vista Recovery Boot Cd is available free by Microsoft). Download it burn the Image .iso and run that disc. That disc will not restore the OS: run diagnostics on the HDD; once disk check is completed and repaired, proceed with the Recovery disks that you have.

I am coming up with error 10-fc12-0570 on the toshiba satellite a215-s7422 i used the both recovery disk and this was the error code

The error message is telling you that the recovery utility was not able to read the data from the disc correctly, or wasn't able to write it to the hard drive. The problem could be with the disc, the CD/DVD drive or the hard drive.

but usually error 10-FC12-0570 is pertaining to a bad HDD or memory

First, try copying the second disc using another system. If you can't copy it, order replacements from Toshiba Customer Assistance: 1-800-457-7777. If you can copy it, try using the copy to do the restore.
You can try using a third party disk checker to verify the problem is or is not with the hard drive. But since the system is under warranty, you're going to have to arrange to have it repaired anyhow, so it may not be worth the effort to verify whether it's the hard drive or CD/DVD drive. It's probably not the CD/DVD drive since you got all the way through the first disc. Contact a Premier (not regular) ASP for service from here: http://pcrepair.toshiba.com

The best way would be to load the Win Vista discs n format the pc...and reinstall...iam telling this because u have a tried the recovery disk as well....

I know most users will not have the Vista CD with you but the Vista Recovery Boot Cd is available free by Microsoft just google...

Download it burn the Image .iso and run that disc. Since that disc will not restore the OS all it does it lets u run diagnostics on ur HDD and allows u to install the OS. Once disk check is completed and repaired, proceed with the Recovery disks that you have.

thank you
have a nice day

Looking for toshiba satellite A215-S7422 disk driver

You should be able to download individual drivers by going to http://support.toshiba.com, but if you are looking for a copy of the original disk I would suggest trying ebay or the following website.

Bluescreen

You can do the sytem recovery by loading the first disk then turn your NB off. Please hold down F12 after power on then select CD/DVD drive then Windows will be loading files. Select the first options for each prompt. You will be asked for the second disk later. Plug in ac adapter since it will take around an hour. Hope this helps.
