Question about Maytag SkyBox MBV1976A Beverage Dispenser

1 Answer

Skybox smoking, then will not dispense, keeps cool only on highest setting

A few months ago, my 2 year old Skybox started smoking from where the cans are usually dropped. I unplugged it and couldn't detect where the smoke came from. From then on, the machine won't dispense (no blinking lights or anything), and it only barely cools the soda when the setting is at the highest. BTW, the flourescent light still lights up when I turn it on.

Would you please send the service manual? redskinsfan424@gmail.com

Thanks

I used the manual to disassemble my skybox, including the front panel, but I cannot find the cause of my problem.

The flourescent lights work, when the plug between the unit and the door is connected. However, none of the dispensing buttons will work (no lights, no sounds, etc.). The plugs do not smell burnt or anything.

The ONLY thing I found problematic was that there was blocks of ice on the back dispensers (between the back of the dispensing panel and the back panel of the machine). I took the ice off and checked all the connections, but still no dice on the buttons doing anything.

Anyway, if anyone knows how to fix this or what else to look for, please let me know.

    Thanks

3.0 litre V6 turbo diesel Mercedes. 115,000 miles. When it is left on tickover for 10 to 15 mins starts to smoke white/grey smoke from exhausts. After a few minutes of normal driving the smoke stops.

Possible cause is several drops of oil are leaking past the valve guide seals when the vehicle just sits. When it is started the oil begins to burn off in the cylinders and after awhile the smoke disappears. I have always recommended cha going the oil to a synthetic and adding an oil additive called Restore. It comes in a cylindrical can in 4, 6 or 8 cylinder size. Put 1 can in with the new oil. Drive the vehicle on the highway for 45 - 60 minutes. I recommend putting on a few hundred Mrs. The additive restores the valve seals preventing the oil from dripping into the cylinders. Have used it on my customers vehicles for 20 years. Saved them a lot of money from replacing the seals.

1988 Yamaha ag 200 mono cross blue and white smoke

Hi, Anonymous your instrument gauges and lights can alert you to most electrical and engine issues they can not warn you about failed engine gaskets or seals so your engine has to resort to old fashion alert methods of colored "SMOKE SIGNALS" here is a breakdown of their meaning:
1. WHITE SMOKE on start-up can is usually caused by a blown head gasket allowing coolant to enter the combustion chamber and may start dripping out of the exhaust pipes or mufflers.
2. BLUE SMOKE on start-up is usually caused by failed valve seals. Smoke that is constant while riding is usually caused by valve to guide and piston ring clearances that have exceeded service wear limits.
3. BLACK SMOKE on start-up is usually caused by too much fuel in the combustion chamber this can be due to air/fuel mixture adjustment too rich, accelerator pump improperly adjusted, faulty choke/enrichner or not in the off position, faulty carburetor float needle and seat, pilot jet too large, fuel injectors leaking, smoke while riding is usually caused by the main jet being too large.
It should be noted that aggressive or abnormal throttle operation will cause these conditions to manifest themselves exponentially.

My Hero Honda Glamour (2008 byke without disk brake)is emmiting white smoke.

That seems a big job, did he say how much he will charge to do it?

I think, unless you are an engineer you will need a manual to do a job like that, although you may find one somewhere on the Internet, if I were to attempt that I would prefer to have a paper one, I could refer to as I went along.

White smoke coming out of tail pipe.

WHITE smoke? Or BLUE smoke? White smoke is usually caused by burning antifreeze (possible blown head gasket). Engine oil burning causes a bluish colored smoke.

Changing the oil two months ago means absolutely nothing to me. I have customers that travel 6000 miles or more in a month. Oil consumption is measured in volume over miles, not volume over months. It is normal for most 4 cylinder engines to use a little less than 1/2 quart in 1000 miles (even more than that for 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder engines).

Smoke from engine of lawnmower

usually large clouds of smoke are from having too much oil in the crankcase, or tipping the mower so that oil runs into the cylinder. Check the level of oil, and make sure it's not overfilled.

Smoking

Couple things I would look for first the condition of the blade do you see any buildup around the teeth like something has burnt on it. Also look into the area around the blade under the table (unplug saw first) to make sure that something hasn't dropped into it rubbing blade causing smoke. Also turn the blade by hand to make sure turning freely. The smoke could possibly be coming from a bearing. If it less than a year old Bosch has a pretty good warranty and you might look into that also. Let me know and I will dig deeper into it.

mains filter capacitor usually goes with a bang and puff of smoke it is usually located near to where the mains cable enters the machine fixed to the rear panel by a nut the main cable is connected directly to it then the cables from it feed power to the machine. the capacitor is usually round in shape and has four connections onto it
