When trying to open quickcam is telling me the following
webcam was not found or is not working properly
check to see if camera is properly plugged into the usb port and then press the reconnect button
Ive done that and nothing is happening!!
keep getting a message that states "webcam was not found or is not working properly." I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the quick cam and the quick cam driver package. Still cannot get the computer to recognize my webcam. Would appreciate any help you can give me.

Re: not connectingmy webcam
Did you install the software with the camera connected to
the computer? Disconnect the camera from the USB port and reinstall the
software. When the program asks you to connect the camera, do so, and it
should work. Hope this is of some help.Bud
Below is info for setting up Audio & Video to chat on
line after you install , either Skype or a messenger program.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are
to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set
it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for
the Audio and Video to function properly. A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype set it up as follows:
Go to TOOLS,
then OPTIONS, and click on Audio Settings and set the
Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
click on the Video Settings.
camera if installed properly will come up and show a picture.
on the bottom of the page click on Save.
The camera and audio should function properly. Your
friends and Family will now see and talk to you. B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger set
it up as follows:
Go to Messenger
at the top left and click on it.
go down to Preferences and click on it.
and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to
the computer Audio Card.
go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click
on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on
the left window.
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so
you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
Hope this helps. Bud

Yes, I have a Logitech WEBcam (not the same model) and I use Skype.
After you installed Skype then :- To test if the Logitech QuickCam is functioning, check the USB cable; make sure it is connected properly. Then click on Start - All Program - Logitech - Logitech QuickCam and see if you can get the camera to capture your image/video. If this works then the fault is with the Skype configuration. Sometimes the WEBcam settings drop off and the WEBcam need to be selected again. Open Skype - Tools - Options - Video Settings and select the Logitech QuickCam Also check the Audio Settings for the Microphone THEN click on Save. Avoid connecting the WEBcam to an USB hub.

Try putting the camera under VFW (Video For Windows) control - it involves a registry edit and can be found here http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger10/webcam/mstacamfix.html It didnt work for me at first - I had to download the windows amcap as well. VFW doubled my fps If you open the 'webcam' menu on the webcam picture frame and also open 'Statistics' you can monitor the f/p/s during transmission - Generally try and keep the frames per second above 1.0 fps to prevent freezing. I transmit the 'small image' with my contacts and they zoom up to 200% -all on the webcam frame menu. When you open 'Statistics' you can tell if you are on VFW control - it will say VFW along the lower panel. I also increased my virtual memory following an error message.
check device manager and update driver
have you set cam up with skype
Go to TOOLS, then OPTIONS, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card. Then click on the Video Settings. The camera if installed properly will come up and show a picture. Then on the bottom of the page click on Save.
Uninstall any driver for webcam and unplug webcam 1) reinstall drivers make sure they are for your operating system 2) when driver installed it should come up with a screen asking you to plug camera in. if not reboot when drivers installed and then plug camera in then it should be found and installed . this method works most of the time any USB device should not be plugged in until drivers installed
i dont know if this will help, i coulndt get my quickcam to work (didnt seem to even recognize it was plugged in ) but i got this and it works now , just follow the readme file it will tell u where to put the patch to make it work, :)
Start by checking that you have no device conflicts. Look in your device manager for any asterisk's or explication points. It is possible the drive was not installed properly. It is a common problem with vista.
